How do you guys pronounce the word "definitely"?
Moved to the UK recently, which means I have been extra carefull when listening to them speak. Not gonna lie, this **** has been a complete brainfuk to me.
One of the "worse" words is "definitely". How do you guys pronouce it?
I pronouce it "deh-fun-lee" (which is probably 100% wrong). I realize most guys in UK (at least where I am living now) pronouce something like "def-nut-lee". Wth??
Other words like "matter" was a good "surprise". Ive always tried to copy the American way of saying it, but the British way "Ma-tuh" is so much easier to me lol. But again, the last thing I wanna sound is like this guy:
But after so many years of watching American movies or listening to American movies I am starting to think I am exactly that guy.
That or saying words like "movie" and "subway" with a british accent (or "film" and "underground" with American accent) lmao.
P.S. Please say where you are from.
