Coffee Boyos and Snobs GTFIH. (ded fkn srs)

Looking to start up caffeine again but only drink coffee. One cup a day.

The thing is...I want the best quality chit. I want to go full bougie like a uppity prick on this. .

My questions are these:
-Best way to brew coffee? (French press, coffee pot, aeropress, k-cups, etc)
-Best legit high quality coffee brands?
-Best type of creamer/add in?


Not looking for starbucks/dunkin or like common chit brands of coffee. Last winter I had a local brew k-cups from a company and couldn't believe the difference in quality and flavor compared to like a Peet's or Starbucks.

I do love a good cup of coffee.

There's a lot to it, but I distilled it this way:

1. I like a cappuccino in the morning, so we bought a reasonable fully automatic espresso machine (LatteGo 3200). You tap a button and it grinds your beans, prepares the froth etc.
2. The beans matter so very much. Experiment with different beans/roasts. I go to a place in Greenwich here called McNulty's Tea and Coffee - we like the Ethiopian French Roast. But I also like Heart Roasters:https://www.heartroasters.com/- very nice roasts there too. If you go to any nice coffee shops around you, you can usually buy coffee from them
3. Whole organic milk in our frother.

If you really want to mog, you get an elite: (i) source; (ii) grinder; (iii) espresso machine, all else is optional. Fully automatic machines are frowned upon of course, but the result of the LatteGo really is pretty good.

On spread.

Perfect post. This is exactly what I was looking for. I want to coffee mog if I'm going to get into this business.

I was looking at machines kind of like this earlier.

I will first focus on the other stuff before I machine mog like that. Don't want to get an $800 machine and not have all the other stuff figured out yet. That will be the eventual goal though. Good idea about finding good coffee beans too. The grocery stores don't have a lot of good stuff, obviously. Will look around then.

Damn wasn't looking to drop that money on an espresso machine yet, but 2 high up coffee brahs are saying they're a game changer. Might bite the bullet sooner than later then.

This was my original plan and I watched a video of a guy talking about cowboy coffee. But I figured I'd look into tons of methods and choose.

I do want to just buy and grind my own beans though at the very least (unless I get an all in one machine).

Ethiopian beans. Get a brewer that soaks the grounds for 30 seconds at the start for best results. Can't remember what the feature is called.

You're not going to find many, if any, low quality Ethiopian beans. They aren't as common, so I have yet to find any that weren't good. I have tried about 20 different coffee beans and these were by far my favorite.

my dad bought an expensive machine for no reason (i guess its entry level but still expensive) he doesn't even drink coffee. I started messing with it and it's pretty fun, if you drink coffee everyday it's a good investment since self made drinks are cheaper than cafes

i got one of those nespresso machines recently with a milk frother

you have to buy nespresso pods, which are considerably more expensive than k-cups, but i think the coffee is delicious

I buy Volcanica coffee beans, Costa Rica Tarrazu Decaf. Best beans I've had. Pricey but worth it. I used to use a French Press but we have an espresso machine so get lattes everyday now. Without an expensive espresso machine I think French Press tastes best. Get a good grinder and grind your beans fresh.

Dude, I literally just sat down with a nice hot cup of strong, black, French-brewed coffee.

Pretty simple drip on my end. I program it to go off at 4:30am. I drink a lot of black coffee in the AM.

To answer your questions more precisely, and especially considering your aim is one single cup:

French press, ratio of 1 tablespoon per 3/4 cup cold water
Nice quality intense dark roast coffee
Getting a small grinder and grinding your whole beans just before you brew is best
Let it steep for 5 minutes
I always drink it black but a splash of milk once in a blue moon is nice. I do it black cuz I fast till noon-ish and generally don't drink coffee in the PM. Today is a rare exception. Coffee's half-life is deceptively long and can mess with your sleep.

Literally just bought a single serving iced coffee machine from Walmart for $20, even comes with that clear basic white girl cup andd straw

Mirin dedication some of you boyos have.

For me we have a basic ninja drip machine, but our beans are from a local company that roasts them fresh here in town. We buy whole beans from them, and grind them fresh before each pot.

On weekends or days with more time those same beans get used for French press.

I’d say the biggest difference is finding a source of locally roasted beans, and grinding them fresh before each use. I don’t drink other styles unless I buy them from that same local coffee roaster/maker and they’re always great.

I took it to an even higher level.

-Went to 5 diff Starbucks locations regularly, after 2 years i picked the barista with the highest potential i could find
- Send them to the London School of Coffee (two year course worth $40k in total)
- Have them train at the best coffee shops in the world, at least 4-5 years.
- Finally have them return, set up a room for them to live, buy any machine and product they ask for, and enjoy your fresh professional coffee every morning


SAH Baristas are paid around 120k per year on average so keep that in mind.

We also have a nice bean grinder, a French press, a vacuum press, and some pour over stuff depending on the mood and time. At my office, I have a moccamaster for drip, and I have an espresso machine and grinder I bought from a coffee shop going out of business. Will get into more detail on any you need.

Probably people who know more than me, but I drink a lot of coffee so I can definitely tell you how taste stack up

Oh yeah one tip: coffee beans can go 'rancid'. So trying to buy 10lbs to put you off going to a store for a few months - if they are not vacuum sealed - may result in very bitter/sour tasting coffee.

I did one of those coffee tasting services for a while (think mine was Angel Cup). The bean that I enjoyed the most was always a light roast Ethiopian hnnnng.

South American blends would tend to have more chocolate notes. Africans a bit fruitier.

Simple French press and grinder from Amazon. Electric kettle from Target. Still use my kettle every day to make tea, but haven’t been in the coffee world in a while

Just read through and I am trying to buy some stuff now. Thank you for all the ideas and tips. Will soon be a coffee MOGGER.

Thinking to start with:

-Ethiopian/south american blends single source

Also might get a cheaper espresso machine too. Something under $500 haha.

Will update again as I finally figure out what exactly I get.

Any more coffee brands/sites with high quality coffee beans and not cheap pesticide ridden stuff will be gladly appreciated.

French presses are cheap and great.

Nespresso machines will give you what you want, but they take pods that cost money. It's a good intro to espresso and can be resold for at least 1/2. Buy one on ******** marketplace.

Drink a few coffees a day. Trial and error with a few different brands of beans, favourite being a local barista that sells them in 1kg bags.
I drink lattes with Soy Milk.

Just trial and error a few different things you like, everyones tastes and preferences are different.

Glad to see you still pop in here brah. Haven't seen you in a while. Hope life is treating you well.

Yea up until this point I have only had k-cup coffee or just basic pot coffee at a family members house. But I rarely drink coffee.

I just figured I'd move to coffee from energy drinks, and if I do I want legit mogger coffee. Not just the usual cheap kcup chit I get haha.
