Do you ever just lie about agreeing with people/giving fake apologies so they stfu?

I don't know what it is, maybe I'm just getting old and tired of the bullchit of life. But at this point, I find myself just fake agreeing/fake apologizing to people just to get them to stfu about whatever their gripe is and get them off my assss. I don't have the energy to deal with peoples' chitat allanymore, and will do whatever it takes to avoid it/make it stop.

I would tell them I understand their perspective and that I have no doubt it is valid.

I’m not going to agree or apologize if I do not agree or am not sorry. I would rather tell someone their feelings are their own responsibility. I do not care, and I am not going to pretend to. Not who I am as a person.

I am a lonely grumpy old man.

Yeah but sometimes even telling them you politely disagree with them like that isn't good enough. Sometimes I find myself fake agreeing just to make people stfu and get off my assss because I know anything else will just keep them going.

I follow the Donald Trump playbook and NEVER apologize...

But I understand in the professional setting that you still have to maintain an air of civility, so instead of apologizing I'll just say "Okay, let's shift our focus for a minute and concentrate on so-and-so and such-and-such"

It's basically my polite way of saying "STFU cause I'm not even paying attention to anything you're saying"

A lot of times Ill just agree with someone so they shut up....especially if they're an idiot or a friend of a friends or just an acquaintance. Can't argue with stupid and at my age, it's just not worth wasting my energy.

but I rarely apologize....especially if someone's "feelings" got hurt. I cant control or dictate how you feel....that's up to you.

Yeah... No...

I am definitely not going agree with somebody just so they will STFU!!

But these days I also wont try to change their mind on something we disagree on because lets face it... most people in this day and age walk into a conversation with their mind made up that they are right and you're wrong... and arent having a conversation with the intent of possibly gaining a new perspective that might go against what they originally believed.

Nah...

They are only there to get you to believe in what they believe and will immediately dismiss the rest of the conversation.

And because of that I have no issue's politely (or not just depending) excusing myself and just walking away from it while they are still flapping their kawk holsters

I used to when I was younger to avoid confrontation.

Now I just say "we'll agree to disagree" and if they pursue the topic further they look like an insufferable kunt.

As far as apologies, I don't give them unless warranted. meaning I did (or didn't do) something worth apologizing for. Hurt feelings are not worth apologizing for if they stem from a difference of opinion.

If anything it's the opposite. I don't gove AF if they agree, but at the end of the day it's not gonna stop me from talking to you if you got something to talk about. With regards to fake apologies same chit, but when I was younger I had a real issue admitting when I was truly at fault. I used to do anything in my power to frame a situation as "not my fault," now I don't give a chit if it makes me look bad, I will straight up admit I fukked up when I did and own it. Maybe it's a maturity thing depending where you're coming from. I cringe at my younger self.

Let me be clear, I don't act super genuine about the fake agreeability/fake apologies I described. It's more like, I've been having a discussion with someone where I have made very clear I don't disagree with them about something, but then I get to a point where I get annoyed enough to just be like "Hey, you know what? You're right, I apologize. *thumbs up emoji*"

I offended a woman the other day because I told her viewpoint about Hamas and Israel is based on propaganda, and that she is basing her opinion on proven lies. I'm not even close to pro Hamas, but will not allow the media to form my opinion on the war either. I also don't give two fukks if you're offended. She also didn't like my take on how the Pope is a sellout and doesn't follow the bible. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

It's impossible to say something based in public and get away with it.

Blue pilled normies have seized the narrative.

So of course people like OP have to buck and apologize.

Lmao this. I legit lol'd when I read the post by the guy saying he says that in professional settings to keep the peace. Saying "We'll have to agree to disagree" literally *never* helps resolve a situation/bring the peace back. It's a code way of saying "Listen you stupid prick, I'm right, you're wrong, and you're a stupid mother fukkkker for it.", and everyone knows it.

That's bullsh!t too. In the professional setting, I'm either saying my based opinion without any regard or not talking to you because I sense that you're a rat that will go running to tell on me. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

Yes, I was married twice.

Nah, it's just a polite way to say the topic has been discussed ad nauseum while setting them up to look like an ass if they push it.

In a professional setting, it's purely instigating lol. Either there are specific ways things are done and one is unequivocally right, or you are voluntarily leaving something unresolved that needs to be lol.

Well, yeah, as a kid growing up by my mother and grandmother I was almost trained to. When I was accused of doing something, even thinking something, it was best to just agree with her and agree to whatever she decided the consequences were. My mother would want me to tell her I did something so she could punish me. As a result for a long time I let anyone who is close to me walk on me. Finally put that crap away and now I'm just an *******.
