Well they are better than most when it comes to making their worlds feel immersive.

NPC's of the future are going to be wild. Running on whatever the current ChatGPT version is.

I'd rather have witty, clever, scripted dialogue than some nonsensical trash from chatGPT tbh

100%. I think so much of the cultural stagnation the past 25ish years is lazy creatives using this technology. It's just NOW, regular people are getting access, which is one of the reasons why "Writer's Strikes" spring up.

At the end of the day it's lazy and lacks creativity. Everything being diluted through the same algorithms and AI and so on.

I think it will be a two way street with ai and video games

Some devs will use it as a crutch

Some devs may use it as a really cool feature. Think of the potential replay value of a game where the ai can make a different story every time you play or something like that. Or an ai that responds in like real time in unique ways idk.

Could be cool if done right.

GTA3 still has the best NPC lines from the series.

NI think that's because they could just get away with whatever and that was back when Rockstar didn't give a phuck. Now a days it feels like everything has to be so PC, and anything AI related will simply result in the blandest personalities possible.

GTA 6 will be yet another game that will ruin open world games for us.

Ever since Red Dead Redemption 2, I've been nitpicking every open world game for not feeling alive. Cyberpunk, Horizon, Starfield, etc.

Maybe, just maybe, this will bring in devs to do more in regards to their games?

Doubt it. GTA6 may as well be a disappointment. Houser and the other valuable people of Rockstar are gone.

5 already showed sings of giving a subpar storymode and map and a complete focus on microtransactions. Despite being a great game, it felt ''lifeless at times'' compared to the previous games which had a lot of charachters.

Also I don't see T2 allowing GTA to be non-PC anymore. They are focusing way too much on eating up all demographics which will require to dumb-down many aspects of what made GTA great.

Houser and co. leaving are a clear sign that they don't have the freedom anymore.

Definitely quest stuff should handcrafted.

Think this could be cool if it was say a random topic picked and have two npcs talk back and fourth with each other as you walk around a city. Even the same conversations topics could end up being different so you just didnt hear the same ole background stuff.
libs gonna lib

Can someone explain the patent to a simpleton? I've played lots of games when the AI reacts to weather conditions.

Yeah when Houser left I felt like that was the death of the Rockstar we knew and loved. I mean they changed dramatically after releasing games like GTA4 and RDR, but now it's cemented how they simply aren't the same group that created so many games I loved.

It's truly amazing how advanced that game was for it's time. Still manages to top GTAV in many ways.

4 was definitely better than 5. 5 was absolutely lifeless, easily the most overrated GTA. Only reason it has gotten the most attention is because it was targeted towards kids and dudes who love playing recklessly online. Pretty much the casual low-attention span player who loves screaming on mic while playing COD.

I still preffer the 3-VS-SA Trilogy though over 4. The recapture of the certain eras was spot on. Still 4 was a good POV on what it feels to be a scummy balkan immigrant in the West and objectively it was the GTA that they truly gave serious focus on.

Oh it'll be a disappointment, only to high iq people.

GTA 6 will sell like hotcakes to all the autist low attention span folks and little Timmy. Rockstar will make billions again, possibly more. Time to start packing up if this was one of your favorite franchises

Leslie has his own studio and a game called Everywhere, but it sounds way to ambitious. Almost like a gofundme steam alpha game

I think they lost their focus, lost track of how to create a great story and how to create an in depth character. I thought Niko's story was fantastic and the stories of the people around him were also great. Although he didn't really change much from start to finish, it was quite immersive, help by the captivating world they created in the game.

GTA V.........all the characters were one dimensional and insufferable. You guys are right, they just threw together a circus a called it GTA V.
