This. I actually love the winter. I enjoy cold weather, there’s something magical about that time of year. But I fuking HATE that it gets dark so early (4:30 at the winter solstice). That means I’ll be commuting to and from work in the dark. It’s like being in a fkin hibernation of misery. I feel like if I didn’t have a 9-5 it would be irrelevant too because I’d alter my schedule to maximize daylight hours and opportunities for sun exposure. Life would be so good.

Agreed. Obviously the amount of time at work is the same, but there is something really psychological about it. In the past I remember walking out of work and thinking “I walked in that building and slaved away, and the world turned all the way around while I was in there.” Completely different than walking out to sunshine on your face. Plus I usually deal with some degree of winter blues every year as is….an extra hour of light at the end of the day would probably help.
