Wife relationship with rabbi — should I be concerned?

So my wife’s synagogue got a new rabbi a few months ago, he’s a younger guy 30s, pretty good looking, fit, used to work in finance and then after that did some producer work in Hollywood, so of course he’s a pretty charismatic guy. I’ve met him once before and he seems friendly enough. However, he and my wife text almost daily, and it gets on my nerves just a bit. I looked over her shoulder once the other day and playfully asked “who ya texting” and she pulled away really fast and said it was just her rabbi. I asked what about and she just sort of blushed and giggled and changed the subject. She’s never been that religious but she does go to synagogue more frequently nowadays I’ve noticed.

Am I being paranoid or is this something I should ask her if I can get more context on?

Cliffs:
-wife has new rabbi she talks to and texts a lot and it seems potentially fishy. What do?

Churches are generally a scam to begin with but if your religious leaders wife is not the one working with the women, and he is, big red flag.

They do t even need to be cheating. Just the fact they are willing to put themselves and their church members in that position is enough.

You do know that once she goes to the synagogue she will meet other women / men who go to the synagogue and they will implant in her head the idea that the rabbi is the best option for her, they will involve and use the word spirituality a lot when speaking to her so that it sounds more like its something done for the greater good, for her soul, instead for for the rabbi's delight and sexual urges

Thanks for the serious responses in this threat guys. I think I’m going to ask my wife today if we can sit down and have a talk about this so I can get a little more information if that’s okay. Part of this is complicated because I’m not Jewish myself and that’s always been a point of strain in our relationship

These aren’t contradictory. My point is that she was never that religious before this new rabbi came to her synagogue, and now she’s a lot more serious about her faith

I hope the talk with the wifey will go ok but i am afraid the battle is already lost. There is no way you can get her more " in touch " with her spirituality and closer to Yahweh than a man who dedicates his life to serve their god.The way he can manipulate her mind with the involvement of verses from the Hebrew Bible and painting her a very specific picture about himself being closer to their god than us mere mortals can get is beyond your reach. He will paint himself as close to a divinity. You just cant compete OP. When speaking about churches and religion in general, people usually view the ( in this case ) rabbi as superior to them, I dont see any way you can invoke that type of a feeling of superiority in people in any other way than to become a rabbi yourself. I think the only way to assert dominance and to save your marriage is for you to become a rabbi yourself OP

You would be shocked at how many truly bad people and these are the worst kinds of bad people because they are maniacal and slick in their thinking. They seek out professions with honorable callings and titles so they can hide behind it while they carry out their criminal acts and immoral deeds. It gives such people a layer of protection.


It could be a harmless relationship but if I were you I'd guard tight and even go with her at times you have to fight for your wife bro. Many times if they think you don't want them enough or u willing to prove to them you will fight to keep them they will run astray. And before you know it some douche bag has ripped your family apart.
