Been in the 4x4 scene for a few years and learning about axle and gear swaps and such. Prices are ridiculously high. A set of new replacement dana 60 axles runs about 20k. This is for a jeep that retails for like 30k new.

It's tough to believe the prices people pay for this stuff. And performance engine swaps can be as high as 40k.

Seems like a lot of money to be made parting out vehicles part time in my garage. You don't even have to be a good mechanic. Just have to be able to remove large expensive components like engines, axles, transmission, and part it out. Granted it takes a bit of capital to buy the wrecked cars but profit margins seem pretty good.
