Calling All Houston Bros

I have to take my crew to Houston this week and have no ideas on what areas you get shot in or not.

Is it safe around Nasa? What areas/suburbs would you avoid?

Yes around NASA is Clear Lake area and that's very safe. Clear Lake, League City, Friendswood, Sugarland, The Woodlands are very safe. The closer you actually get to downtown Houston and you will get shot/robbed at night. Also avoid SW Houston and North Houston.

That's not even really Houston, more like halfway between Katy/Cypress, depending on which side of the park you are on. There's a few neighborhoods around there that aren't really bad, just less than nice.
If you're moving office furniture, I'm guessing you're down around I-10 (the "Energy Corridor"). Mostly big corporate office buildings. South of I-10 (Memorial) is really nice. Think doctor married to lawyer type houses.

NASA, Kemah, Clear Lake are very safe. The Kemah boardwalk is pretty entertaining.

You might be more interested in the Montrose area.

Avoid North side, SW side, Alief, Sunnyside, 5th Ward.

I'm just there for 2.25 days. If I get done early enough Saturday I'm going fishing in Texas City.

But it's alot of work. Going to try and talk the boys into working late Friday if we have access to the building.

I live north of Houston near lake COnroe and it's really nice here and never go downtown, very ghetto there.

I work in The Woodlands which is a nice area.

It was. Now they're all in Sunnyside.

Not that simple. As one poster said above, it's a checkerboard. Third Ward is about as ghetto as it gets (complete with MLK boulevard), but just a couple miles to the West is West University Place, which is more than you can afford pal. They're both inside the Loop, as is River Oaks, the original old money neighborhood.
