Top 10 NFL players of all time

Feel like this one could be a lot more variable than NBA. Everyone generally agrees who the top guys are just not the order of it. For NFL I bet there's a lot of different names that could be in the top 10 and have an argument for it. Who you got on yours?

1. Tom Brady
2. Jerry Rice
3. Joe Montana
4. Barry Sanders (short career but honestly incredibly)
5. Walter Payton
6. LT
7. Ray Lewis
8. Randy Moss
9. John Elway
10. Tony Gonzalez



I didn't want to have nothing but QBs so you could probably argue for some above guys like Moss or Tony G if you really wanted but I'm in part factoring in how dominant were you at your position since it's hard to compare.

Not a slight. Like I said I didn't want a list of QBs. The only argument you have for him is over Elway and that's very much debatable. Over Montana or Brady is not.

As for Manning vs. Elway. Manning 14-13 in the playoffs, Elway 14-7..... enough said

Haters gonna hate. Only thing I could see possibly changing is sliding him up to 5th. He's definitely not above the Brady, Rice, Montana trio. And Sanders I just think was possibly the most talented player to ever play. He just had a shorter career than many and got stuck on the Lions

Where would Ricky Williams fall on the list boyos? I would always choose the Dolphins on NFL street because you literally could not stop Ricky Williams. But that's all I know about football srs

Good list. But I think list should go by position. And then make a list out of that

Yeah obviously that makes sense but I also think this is what makes a top 10 overall list much more debatable. Positions can be viewed much more differently and people can make good arguments.

I don't even have anything against the guys in here pushing for LT and White to be higher. They're valid for sure. Obviously I tilt toward offense with my list though.

Ehh... In terms of an all time list? Yeah I think so when I say overrated.

Not discrediting him. No doubt he's the best lineman, but still a lineman.

I'm a little shaky on the order of some of them. Also didn't include a lot of older guys as the game is much different than it was pre-80s. Still thought guys like Brown, Butkus, Page, and Greene were just so outstanding that they deserve recognition here. Also Brown was such a talent IMO he'd be a great RB now.
Repped for the list

I most dislike Calvin Johnson on the offensive one, and Ray Lewis being so low on the defensive (which shouldn't be a surprised given where I have him on mine).

If you want another WR in there I'd go Fitzgerald over CJ personally. TO is floating around there somewhere too. I'd still lean Fitz out of those 3 though. I do understand why you have him there though. Can probably make the same argument for him that I make for Barry Sanders being so high on mine.

NFL top 10 lists don't really work... QB is too heavily weighted and then you feel obligated to give other positions slots...

Top 5 by position is cleaner.
