Seems like a lot of the US's top talent is opting out
Seems like a lot of people with high levels of education and skill are working the minimum amount of time to make their **** you money and then leave the working world forever.
Especially in the high-skill, high-burnout jobs like Wall Street, doctor, auditor, etc.
Maybe it was always the case but it seems like it's really accelerated post-pandemic with a lot of people I know retiring or moving on to "second careers" (semi-retired) in their early 40s.
My job is offering salaries approaching $200k to people in their early thirties, in a LCOL area and people are still flooding out the door.
I've heard medicine is especially brutal.

bruh, doctors now days are fuking idiots.
my dad went for an regular check up the other day.
nurse and doctor doesn't even put the blood pressure cuff on correctly.
shows his blood pressure at 240/140 which is hypertension/stroke danger.
sends him to the ER and prescribes him more high blood pressure medication.
all because they can't even take a proper blood pressure.
true story unfortunately

Lol, what kind of jobs in the working world pay FU money today? Inflation has sent most job wages real-negative.
