Man dies of drug overdose two weeks before being released from prison.

Actually. He was tied up, beaten and sexually assaulted for 2 or 3 days before being found unresponsive on Oct 22nd. I can’t believe the warden thought anyone would buy the overdoes story.

“His family claims they were not told until Oct. 25 that he was brain-dead in the hospital — and that warden Joseph Headley blamed it on drugs.”

“They eventually learned he had been kidnapped and raped or “tied up, beaten, and rented out for two to three days” by another prisoner, the outlet reported, citing prison sources — who claimed such violence was not uncommon there.”

“On Sunday, Daniel was taken off life support as the doctor has decided to give Daniel a compassionate release and allow him to pass within 10 days. But if he doesn’t, the warden of Staton, Joseph Headley, will decide whether or not to send Daniel back to the prison.

UPDATE: APR was informed that Daniel was moved to Kilby Correctional Center Thursday morning and subsequently passed away soon after arriving. The family was not expecting him to be moved so soon and still do not know why he was moved.”

All the COs on shift as well as the warden and all the administrators need to get heavy prison time. Give them 10-12 years a piece. Make an example out of them.

As for the other prisoners, find each ine involved in this and execute them. Prison should be hell for the inmates, not a club where you go to watch TV and eat free food and work out. Any inmate who behaves violently should have one of their legs broken as the first warning.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Hard to believe some people get out and go right back in.

Hope the warden rots for trying to cover it up.

How does it go unnoticed when someone is kidnapped, raped, and beaten in prison for multiple days when they're multiple counts per day? There's going to be a huge investigation and indictment very soon... (Super Ded fkn Srs)

I don’t think it went unnoticed, I just don’t think they cared. I will be shocked if there is any sort of investigation or indictment this **** happens all the time, especially in Alabama and Mississippi.

Not shocked. Worked corrections around 4-5 years and the thing that blew my mind the most was how people could get paid so much for so little work, and yet still manage to not do it. guarantee you guards were skipping counts/safety checks like mother****ers.
gotta wonder though what he did to get the alleged assault.

my bad. read it too quick.

I bet this stuff happens more often than you'd think. I just had a guy at work tell me a story about how he saw a guy get beat to death by the guards at Riker's. Prison in America is terrifying

gotta wonder though what he did to deserve the alleged 2 week assault. the claims seems a bit suspicious that no one in the entire facility noticed it, or he never reported it once(or didnt get noticed), for two whole weeks, especially given the frequency of med distribution and sick checks performed by nurses/doctors

Read it too quickly as "An Alabama inmate died after being beaten, tortured and sexually assaulted in prison for two weeks" on my phone.

I wouldn't count on it. I'm sure this will be swept under the rug...again. Once someone gets sent to prison it's pretty much over for them as long as they are there. Any sort of justice in this case is about as likely as prison and corrections industry reform.

You can say all of that tough talk all you want, but it's just that, talk. Nothing ever changes with this stuff, not for the positive anyway.

I feel bad for the dude. Nobody who commits theft deserves to get gangraped by the same sex. Especially not a young twink white guy who was probably anally raped repeatedly by BBCs, and beaten in the process. Imagine how many times they used his hole, violently. For DAYS. What a way to go, RIP.
Pretty sure what you’re quoting there is second-degree grand larceny.

He was convicted of second degree property theft. I posted the penal code in the op

“In addition to bruising and apparent binding, Bostic claims a nurse told her and Mr Williams that there were 'visible hand print bruises between Daniel's legs'.

The family said they asked for a rape kit to be conducted but claims their request was initially denied. They allege hospital staff finally examined him on November 1 after a lawyer got involved. The results of the kit are, as yet, unclear.”

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-sentence.html

So they performed a rape kit 5 or 7 (depending on who you believe) days after he was hospitalized.

It is kind of confusing, “second-degree grand larceny” and “second-degree property theft” seem like they could be used interchangeably, considering they’re both in the second- degree and they’re both a class C felony.

Also, depending on what state you’re in sometimes the words theft and larceny are used interchangeably.

The cake was a year in prison, not a three day long torturous rape session that kills him and ends up being covered up by the warden and staff.

I hear u, but.
I can guarantee this wasnt the only crime hes done dont be naive, you dont go to jail after your first dirty 1. Thats 1 in a million bad luck.

And about that cake. Nobody goes to jail thinking there wont be problems. You know youre going into a jungle.

The warden should obv be held accountable. That was wrong. But like the dude getting killed in prison, thats just life son.

Have you seen the average prison worker these days?

They actually closely resemble the inmates these days. Hire a whole AA staff and then be surprised when everything goes to chit. Same thing with inner city hospitals, that directly leads to patient suffering/death but it all gets covered up.

64% of correctional officers are white, only 24% are black. So no. You are not correct.

I remember when this happened, luckily I don't work there; I am always paranoid when I do my security checks and counts, I've had a few dead guys over the years. OD, suicide, murder, medical issue; I either see you breathing or I am beating that cell door with my baton until you move.

https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com...321-story.html

IIRC every officer who worked that building, medical staff, and all of their supervisors up to the associate warden (or maybe just captain) got fired and were civilly liable. No one arrested.

Living breathing flesh, always count that and nothing else.
