This is me every other paycheck srs. The one I use to pay rent with nearly wipes my account clean. Always have to make sure I stock up on food towards the end of the month.

Used to be worse before my raise. At least now I’m not pulling out of my savings to buy groceries every week.

Both me and the wife work "normal" jobs, but then again we put in about 4k a month into deferred comp.

Define a normal job? I went STEM. Got a bachelor's degree, kept with my field for over 6 years, and now I make nearly triple the average income from my area (overtime helps, otherwise it's closer to 2.5x). I got certifications, got promotions, company-hopped twice, and made this happen for myself.

My CoL is like $3k/mo max, more like $2.5k if I'm frugal. Yet I bring in over $7k take home. I'm only 28 btw.
