2025 Camry Unveiled - 9th Generation

For sale in Spring 2024, the 2025 Camry has been unveiled! This debuts the first of the 9th generation Camry lineup.

9th generation Camry does away with the V6, and moves to a hybrid-only power train in the lineup. Consumers can select between FWD (225hp) and AWD (232hp) for every edition, but it will all be 2.5L. MPG isn't known yet.

Even the base Camry LE an SE models get the digital gauge cluster displays, plus dual-zone climate control, a Qi wireless phone charger, 16-inch aluminum wheels, LED headlights, and a smart key with pushbutton starting. The SE ups that game with 18-inch wheels, a sport suspension, faux leather seat accents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and aluminum pedals. The XLE and XSE upgrade to 18- and 19-inch wheels, respectively, as well as the 12.3-inch gauge display and central touchscreen, LED taillights, leather seating that's heated and power-adjustable up front, proximity key entry, and front and front side acoustic laminated glass. As before, the Toyota Safety Sense active safety suite is standard across the lineup and includes automated emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, auto high beams, and adaptive cruise control.

Entry level LE and SE Camrys get a smaller 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen, while XLE and XSE variants get the larger 12.3-inch units pictured here.

Withheld my opinion from the OP, but will state it here.

I have a 2018 Camry (i-4 non-hybrid) with only like 35k miles on it. I have substantial liquid (checking and non-retirement investments). The intent for this was to get a new house in the next 2-3 years probably, and to then upgrade to the 9th gen Camry in like 2026-2028.

After seeing the unveiling and direction of Toyota, I think there's some big W's here. I'd assume streamlining to an all-hybrid lineup will mean better quality control, lower manufacturing costs, maybe more accessible and cheaper maintenance, etc. And I think my next car will be a hybrid. But I don't think that this gen is as revolutionary as I was hoping. Maybe we'll get more insight into the specs over time to hype me up, but meh. At this time, I'll probably keep my '18 Camry and drive it till the 10th gen.

TBH, even though I and everyone else admit that the interior is a good deal nicer, was hoping for it to feel even more futuristic. More touch screen displays instead of physical buttons, more control with the Toyota App to turn it on before you're in the parking lot and set your desired temperature. I'd like a feature akin to Tesla with built-in-by-default cameras for recording incidents.

The steps in the right direction are the "standard across the lineup" wireless phone charging, and blind-spot mirrors.

It’s sad that Toyota is one of the only manufacturers still offering sedans to the U.S. market. Almost every single other brand has ceased production of their sedans in favor of ugly ass fkin SUVs or crossovers. Mazda is the worst, they totally cucked themselves and ruined a great brand. This Camry isn’t the best looking car, but I’d be willing to consider buying one just to give a big fuk you to the other companies.
