TravelCells, question for you.
If you’ve been to, or want to goto vacation in Italy for 7-10 days give or take. How would you go about it?
Hit a cruise, stopping at a bunch of ports, possibly hitting some other southern European countries. But not really getting the full experience of any one of them.
Do one of those tour groups that spend a couple/few days in maybe 3 or 4 Italian cities each. But you’re somewhat stuck with a group of strangers.
Stay in a nice hotel in one city for a few days, then travel on your own to another and do the same.
Stay at a resort. Do the day trips from there.
Feel free to add any other reasonable suggestions.

Would fly because dislike cruises, probably make a list of places to see and things to do. I'd order them most exciting to least exciting, and then go in reverse order so every day I'm more excited than the day before. Book hotels ahead of time and spend about 2 nights in each. Also try to get off the tourist path and see the olive groves and vineyards in the country.

italy and the Mediterranean is hugely overpriced for tourism. Turkey was one of the best places ive been. Japan being a second but it is also about the same amount to visit Greece or Italy

Is this your first time in Italy?
I'd pick 3 cities for 10 days and train or fly between them. Do your own homework and book stuff and logistics. I'd recommend Rome, Florence, and Venice. Hardest to book is the last supper and sistine chapel so book those in advance.
