In the 2000s there were so many variations. Some cell phones flipped open, some were slide ups. Some had keyboards, others didn’t. Some had primitive touchscreens, others had a trackball.



You could look at it both ways. Perhaps the technology found the best template and stuck with it, or perhaps consumerism and conformity led to the standard design we all see today. Yeah there was a significant change in 2012 and then a major one around late 2014 to 2016. Lots of glitches in the matrix since 2014 as well. This is calling out the clergy big time. The first beast, Jesus the based is still the good guy in this story. The second beast is or at least hides within the clergy.
