Miscers Who Lift: Calorie Cycling (srs)

Currently lifting 3 days a week full body while bulking

Is it worth it to increase calories on training days and then cut back to maintenance or even a slight deficit on rest days?

My reasoning being that on training days you want the extra calories for training fuel, plus you have better nutrient partitioning due to the training itself. Also thinking about intermittent fasting on rest days and cycling higher carb/lower fat on training days and lower carb/higher fat on rest days.

But I also don’t want to be too autistic about this stuff, especially because I’m natty

I don't think so. I like to load up on a decent amount of carbs prior to working out to provide energy. And on rest days (I don't do them super often), you need calories to help your body recover and build. You can definitely change up the macros, but I don't think your caloric intake should change that much across the days depending on intensity.

I'd say unless you benefit from more food on certain days nah; in the end total calories would be the same, how you split them would be more preference than any benefit from what I have seen/noticed. I usually do eat more on lifting days but that's because I am hungrier, days I don't lift are usually double shifts at work so I am more busy with less time to eat so it's easier to just eat less those days.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.
