American graffiti or grease
I have to go with American graffiti.
Great movie, amazing sound track.
Prelude to happy days and Laverne and Shirley.

While I enjoy the music of Grease, I don't actually think the movie itself is all that amazing. A bit bland, in my opinion. I've always understood the appeal, and I do find some enjoyment in the movie, but I believe its quite over-rated. More of a cultural relic than anything else. I always enjoyed "You're the one that I want" at the end. Easily my favorite part of the film. Travolta is so ridiculously cartoonish during that song. I love it. But the movie is supposed to encompass an entire school year, right? The story & pacing really seem pretty hollow when you take that into account. And I still don't understand the ending. They drive up into the sky? What? And where did that car come from? Never made any sense to me.
American Graffiti is a fantastic movie. Great soundtrack, great acting, solid writing...I'd easily put it over Grease.
