What happened? Mail carriers are idiots too now. (Rant)

I only check my mail a couple times a week and this morning I had 10 items that weren’t mine. My mailbox is numbered along with my last name but I keep getting my neighbors mail. Luckily we all take the time to ride around to one another’s homes and correctly deliver the mail.

We’ve made numerous complaints and yet it’s still happening. The last complaint I made I received an email survey asking was I pleased with the way my complaint was resolved. I WAS NEVER CONTACTED ON THE ISSUE!! I’ve even handed incorrect mail to a couple carriers telling them it’s not mine. One of the issues is they’re always on the phone yapping away while delivering mail.

The next time I see my carrier I might just run full speed at him and drop kick him. Then I’ll get the attention I need.

Some can be really good and others really bad. My bf used the same realtor I've used in the past. She sends out post cards for something free at the holidays from a local shop. I got mine at my condo and my bf got the notification thing that his was supposed to be in the mailbox but it wasn't. We're pretty sure the mailman stole it.

ETA: The worst are delivery drivers. The numbers are right on the outside of the house and they deliver to the wrong address. Like, can you not read?!

They've been bad in my area for a while now. Several years ago Amazon started using USPS for Sunday delivery and all the old carriers retired at once. They were replaced with a bunch of millennials and zoomers and the service has been very inconsistent. Usually the holiday mail surge throws them in a tizzy and sometimes we don't get ours until 6-8pm this time of year.

My mail carrier is pretty good. On a rare occasion I will get a piece of mail that is the neighbors but it’s rare. And he gives my dog a treat if he’s outside when the mail comes.

My mail carrier is a fukking moron too. In our apartment complex a neighbor moved out, and our mail suddenly stopped. Had some important chit not get delivered, went down to the post office and apparently my carrier cannot fukking read and stopped our mail. This moron carries mail in a tank top or sports jerseys too so my wife originally thought he was stealing our mail when she first saw this guy LMAO.

I had $200 worth of gun parts get “delivered” in January. Was never in my mailbox, I checked immediately after the mailman left. I tried claiming insurance on it but never got it because as far as USPS cares, it was marked as delivered. I had a cluster mailbox, so not sure if the moron put it in the wrong slot or just kept it for himself. Fgt was always on the phone too

I have had my issues with the with overnight 24 hour deliveries that never make it.
I went to the local office and spoke to the manager and he told me that most locations are now understaffed (or new carriers) after Covid, and the Changes that the Postmaster General has made are not overly helpful.
The guy was cool and was doing the best that he could with a bad staff.
We do what you do and walk it over to the correct house.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Went to orientation for USPS, but never showed up for the first day since I withdrew my application because on the job ad, it said a year contract, but then the supervisor said it would only be a temp job. Are they required to pay me for orientation since they mentioned they would pay me, or not? It's been over a month now, and so far, nothing.

Put a personalized or handwritten name/number over the existing number. what that will do is wake him up everytime he looks at your mailbox. bet this will reduce unwarranted mail by 80%+.

Put a misc sign on your mail box op. That way the mail man can tell your house apart from others.

Just called again and went full Karen, supposed to be getting a call from them in 45 minutes to an hour and a half.

I’ve received certified mail in error too, I thought they were supposed to get a signature on that.

Those 1-800 people pretend to be helpful, but the person at the office is who will eventually call you back.
It may save you time to just go there in person, they tend to resolve stuff when you are in their face.

That's what temp is tbf. I worked a temp job for 5 years. They renew your contract yearly if they want to keep you.

I bought a mailbox at a local mailbox store like a block away from me. It’s like $15 a month and a write-off for me.

Now I always get my mail and packages, no one gets my actual address, and he helps me box up my outgoing packages.

When I was a rentcel in a city, I couldn't even order a package without it being ransacked. I highly recommend renting a P.O. Box and having all your mail and packages sent there. Believe it or not, it was an elderly Asian lady and her husband doing most of the damage. (Super Ded fkn Srs)
