In 1945 when the United States was the only power in the world to hold an atomic bomb do you think the world would have been better off if we just used that muscle to wipe out communism and make a one world order?

We couldn't have ended the Soviet Union even with nukes but I've had similar thoughts if it wouldn't have been better if we'd used them in Korea rather than allow a hostile authoritarian dictatorship to torture their people for decades and develop their own nuclear weapons.

We had 2 chances now first during the Korean war second immediately after they tested their first nuke.

Bit hard to decimate countries you disagree with, with nukes, and wake up the next day feeling like a good guy.

That would clearly cause the US to be the bad guy and literally every country in the world would invade us.

Germany had stallin defeated and all military historians agree with that right up till he halted the 1st army's drive . To Moscow and split it up to go for the oil fields Moscow was ready to fall. Stallin at that time was ready to cut a separate peace. If it had not been for the United States lend lease stalli. Would have sill been defeated. Same for england..

Sad thing is we took the benevolent road and did the right thing by not taking over with the atomic weapon but does anyone think for one minute of the roles had been reversed and the soviets passed it they would not have used to take what they wanted?
