Fasting one day a week is a secret weapon

If you can do it, if you have the willpower and can delay gratification for 48 hrs, fasting 1 day (48 hrs a week) will change your life.

- Stay lean
- Have mind clarity and focus like never before.
- Repair liver and other cells continually.
- Probably avoid cancer
- Eat more on the other days w/out gaining weight
- Promote self confidence - you are doing something most people cannot do.

Anyone else do this? If not, try it.

If you have the willpower you can eat every day and still stay lean.
There is but one path....we kill them all.

True but you don't get the other benefits, such as cell repair, autoph agy, clarity and focus...

You work up to it.

And it's actually 48 hrs, but I tell myself it's one day because you eat dinner on Monday, eat nothing Tuesday, then eat dinner on Wednesday...then the rest of the week normal until after dinner on Monday... repeat the cycle. It seems like only one day of fasting but it's really 48 hrs.

U know in Islam, it's Sunnah (the way of our Prophet) to fast on Mondays and Thursdays.
2:136
Say, ˹O believers,˺ We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us; and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants; what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. And to Allah we all submit.

You need to take in salt that day. Eat some salt, a 0 calorie electrolyte drink, drink some pickle juice -- electrolytes. Our ancestors used to hunt during a fast and they were very efficient due to the HGH fasting releases + adrenaline.

Yes -- many religions have incorporated fasting into their lifestyles throughout history.

Oh yes lots of water. No need to eat only 1 meal a day the rest of the time. I like to do that because I like to eat big meals, not micro meals. And if I go out to dinner I don't like to worry about the calories.

I'd imagine it works the same way it does for substance abusers. The substances themselves don't cause you to lose weight, it's the fact that they forget to eat or just aren't hungry at all SRS

According to Islamic narrations, King David (‘alayhi salam) used to fast every other day and he never turned his back on the enemy on the battlefield

There’s a connection there. If you can resist food and drink, you gain power over your lower self and can even face the enemy though your lower self wants to run away

I do a fast roughly that often, but I do have to say that my workouts (swimming or lifting) during that fasted period turn to ****, even with my hydration taken care of.

Doubt it's purely psychological, but I continue testing.

Fasting is the only health topic I will evangelize to people. Probably the best thing you can do for your body and it costs $0.

In the book of Matthew Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to fast for forty days and nights. During that time of fasting, Jesus was repeatedly tempted by the devil. This testing time prepared him for his three-year ministry that would change the world.

fasting too much causes continual appetite shrinkage and a slow downward spiral in caloric intake, which leads to a major decline in testosterone levels.

periodically fasting is good. a 3-5 day fast twice a year is great.

I just go with the flow, stopped doing full day fasts. But spacing out eating a few days a week to get 16 - 20 hour fasts definitely makes me feel better overall.
Was recording it one point and would hit 200 - 300 fasted hours a month or more.
