Balance takes practice. Should probably start out doing bodyweight until you learn how to balance. Keep your head up, good posture and focus straight ahead. From what I remember from ballet when I was young, the teacher would say think of a string attached to the top of your head pulling you up tall and straight.

Doing it with a barbell is dangerous. Imagine breaking your spine because you wanted to be good at a sloot exercise.
