Just get a squat rack and a bench.

obviously some weights too.

Thats really all you will need to last a long time.

This thing looks like something for fancy sit ups.

The Inspire one from costco is always on sale and a really good piece.

$1700, dual cable, smith machine and bench. What can't you do on this?https://www.costco.com/inspire-fitne...100812608.html
Already have a solid basic home gym started.

Power rack with high/low lat tower, pull up and dip bars.
Adjustable bench with leg extension/leg curl attachment.
600lb of Olympic weights.
2 sets of adjustable dumbbells
Adjustable kettlebell
3 Olympic bars, Olympic curl bar, Olympic open ended trap bar.
Assortment of rubber bands
Adjustable ankle weights up to 20lb each.
Eliptical machine
Treadmill
Various other attachments and Knick knacks.

I as considering a ghb or a reverse hyper, then I saw that thing and I’m on the fence. Definitely won’t get a smith. But a different cable crossover/functional trainer is a solid idea.

I have their Tib Bar, very high quality, helped a lot with my shin splints; I wouldn't mind one of those, but I have a cheapo Roman Chair from Amazon that works well and was only $100.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

A foam balance pad will help with the shin splints too. Stand one foot at a time until your shins are on fire.
