What game(s) are most nostalgic to you?

thought we could use one of these threads given the season.

For me it has to be OoT, the jump to 3d, world felt huge and full of secrets, good time.

To a lower degree Unreal tournament 3 on PS3, it was kinda bleh but I liked it, while everyone else was on COD4 I was playing instagib lol

Horizon Zero Dawn, broken record I know. There is something about the setting and world, and the music even down to the theme that plays in the character menu that feels super nostalgic to me. I play it yearly.

Going back older school it def has to be FF8 and FF10. They have been far exceeded by modern games and the stories were a lil goofy at times but these games just drew me into the world.

Cliffs: seems like games that have some kind of charm to the world and the music that just makes you feel immersed are what get me. Shocking, I know.

Same, BFBC2 days were glorious.

I played NES/SNES games in the early 90s but for some reason ain't too nostalgic about them... maybe except a little for Wizards & Warriors (Dark souls before Dark Souls) and Donkey Kong Country

A lot of the big 16-bit franchise stuff like Super Mario World and the Sonic games, lots of stuff on Sega Genesis like Road Rash and The Punisher, then lots of stuff on PS1 like the classic Need for Speed games, THPS, Tekken 1-3 and SF Alpha 1-2, N64 stuff like Mario 64 and 1080 Snowboarding, then I'd get into Dreamcast games like Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, classic fighters like Dead or Alive 2 and Street Fighter 3, then PS2 gen is the probably the last time I have real nostalgic feels.

Hard to list all of them. But I have very fond memories playing all the RPGs during the SNES area

FF4
FF6
Breath of fire 1 and 2
Mario RPG
7th saga
Chrono trigger
Illusion of gaia
Secret of mana

And aside from SNES RPGs I would have to add Monster Hunter on PS2 and PSO on dreamcast.

I didn't play OoT much when the N64 was still on the market, but that game oozes nostalgia. Everything in it feels so right.

Rampage, Twisted Metal, Duck Hunt, Sk8 or Die, Halo, Gears of War 1, Elder Scrolls Morrowind and Oblivion, Fallout 1/2/3, GTA 1 & 2 and SA.... so many I couldn't hope to list them all; remind me of a time when I had no responsibility.

Honestly too many to really list

But if I had to pick something recent, the covid / Warzone era was just totally awesome. I took a ton of time off work and got paid for all of it, and spent like 3 months just ****in gaming. Had a couple buddies who basically were in the same boat, Warzone was at its peak, we played so much. It was an awesome time for games.

Of course I was playing a ton of other stuff also but that was most memorable and if you were grinding Warzone back then you know how much fun it was before it became totally aids.

Obviously a bunch of NES/Gameboy games as those were my first video games

But some of the earlier multiplayer games were some of the best times:
Quake 1 - 3, unreal tournament, Red Faction 2

Early MMOs as well:
Vanilla WoW and Ultima Online

Fallout 2, Baldur's Gate I (Black Isle Studios mogged before they were stupidly fired by Electronic Arts).
