Childhood books that altered your life thread. Old Dan and Little Ann
Where the Red Fern Grows is a book that stuck with me. Pushed me to get a dog when I was a kid. Gave me a love of dogs that has not changed. Did any book hit you hard as a kid?

Never heard of that book in my life
Googled a quick run down and lucky for you "old dan" is the dog, or you would have had some negs coming your way

Funny so many of us read the same books throughout school. Hatchet, Where the Red Fern Grows, Flowers for Algernon, The Outsiders, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, etc.

Animals always make me feel a bit sad. There's a lot of deaths in the animal kingdom. I think people have good lives, so they're largely shielded from it.

2. I catch my brother in the morning standing over out at our family puppers grave. He is in his 50s, and raised her since she looked like some little marshmallow pokemon. He did not know better and got her from a store known for puppymills. She died at 7 of GME (doggo cancer), and he spent himself into debt for her comfort and a few more weeks.
That animal was pure love, concentrated into 20 pounds. I swear, she knew when people had a bad day, and gave them extra attention. It was uncanny.

I put him in a little pram, bring him there to sniff around a small spot, then bring him home.1. Sorry to hear it brah, best wishes to your dog. Shelling out $100 a month on his pain meds, plus more on supps. It's well worth it.
His mom was a champion showdog, so they scan for genetic issues in the pups. He's coming to 15. I feel like this winter will be his last. Sad AF.
He was with us for the hardest and darkest part of our lives. I'll never forget him till my dying breath.

The Giving Tree, Anne of Green Gables, Charlotte's Web and The Velveteen Rabbit.
I can't remember all the books I've read as a young child but these one's stick with me.

Hatchet, Narnia LWW, The Devils Court. Stephen King did a number on me looking back. I tossed his books so my kids don’t become psychopaths.

Not a book in particular, but the fantasy genre made me an Atheist.
So many books with made up religions with made up rules etc etc and it just kinda dawned on me that like... real word religions are just the same damn thing for the same damn reasons. **** someone wrote in a book.
