You have to enjoy it, and make it part of your routine. However, there's no point trying to force yourself to read a book a week if you're getting 0 enjoyment from it. I've averaged about 2 a week this year with little effort, because i've read stuff i enjoy reading (i.e philosophy, history etc)

It could be a book in 1 months, the idea of the tight deadline is so it replaces bad habits.

You have to really enjoy reading. My wife does more than that. She'll run through a thick book in a few days and then run through my thick cawk in a few minutes (nomsayin?)
I began playing video games in the later evening with my incredibly limited free time. Reading is a nice idea but I prefer games now. Whatever your preference is, really lean into it and enjoy yourself. I used to watch TV shows but I haven't done that in years.

*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*
*Fat shame my cat on a daily basis crew*

I read just under a book a week, as in, sometimes I'm not successful in getting a book read in the week. I read long books on complex subjects though.
You need to be passionate about the subject. Trying to force yourself to read won't do you any favours. What are you passionate about?

Back off, Warchild.
Seriously.

If you find it hard to read past 15 minutes, stop at 15 minutes. The important part is to try and do it everyday until it becomes a habit.
Start with a fiction book that piques your interest, preferably something easy to read.

1. Read first thing in the morning. Don't take your phone with you when you poop, read on your tablet/kindle/physical book instead. I got bathroom book collection of weird facts, italian/French to English visual encyclopedias, etc. This habit is a gamechanger. somehow it wires your brain for additional reading throughout the day.
2. Read half hour before bed.
3. Audiobooks are your best friend during WFH or during commute.
4. Pick up often. Every pocket you find pick up book/audiobook instead of your phone
