Floyd didn't die from a Fenanyl OD
When someone dies after taking ******** they die within 15-30 minutes of snorting it. In the case of an OD within 5 minutes of ingesting the drug your motor skills are barely functional.
If Floyd died from a ******** OD, he wouldn't have had the capacity to act erratic during his arrest. You'd also be implying that he snorted ******** right before the incident and that the effects of the drug kicked in right when he had the knee on his back.
He had ******** in his system during time of death =/= he OD'd on ********.

I say: Good thread and I see people giving OP ****, likely for past perceived bad takes or posts, but nothing in his original post was aggressive or bad, whether I agree or not (and I don't know enough about fent to disagree).
To OP and anyone else actually interested in the subject: Fent was found in his system, correct? At what levels? Wouldn't that be a strong indication of how it could have contributed towards his death? Also, while I am hearing theories about FBI involvement in how this death was classified, until anything is more settled there, the official cause of death currently stands as homicide? I haven't been following too closely.

Maybe, maybe not. What really killed him was being a complete piece of filth, career criminal, drug addict who was noting more than a leach on society. Nothing of value was lost

Either way the whole thing was a politicized schit show since the public only saw the very end of the police interaction. THAT is the biggest problem. Floyd didn't die because of racism. Had George Floyd been white the end result would have been the same. Charging Chauvin with involuntary manslaughter would still make sense, as it was bad judgment to restrain Floyd like that under the medical distress he was clearly under.

Anyone purposefully taking non-laced ******** would snort it cause you'd have to buy 10x more to get the same effects.

is it really that hard to say "don't do ******** unless you want to die" and "don't kneel on the neck of a guy who isn't moving"? why are things that should be considered common sense presented as mutually exclusive?

Involuntary manslaughter? Seems like the right call. Murder? Nah.
Another unique factor is Minnesota having a 3rd degree murder as an available charge. It doesn't exist in almost any other state. If this happened in almost any other state Chauvin would have been charged with involuntary manslaughter, but the climate in the country was to charge Chauvin with the highest charge possible. There wasn't enough to charge Chauvin with 2nd degree murder and basically anywhere else by default that would have meant involuntary manslaughter charge. But Minnesota has that unique charge that falls in between, which requires less intent than 2nd degree murder and legally is functionally equivalent to involuntary manslaughter, but with higher punishment.

Either he was a drugged out rapey scumbag piece of **** criminal OD'ing... OR... a noble oppressed person of color unfairly intentionally murdered by corrupt racist cops.
Few take the actual reality, which is the post below yours by Frank. (Cliffs: the officer ****ed up but wasn't murder, probably manslaughter - with the drugs contributing to why he died and had he been clean, the way he was restrained wouldn't have killed him)

Why do people keep bringing this up? Nobody is changing their mind and nothing about the Floyd situation has changed.
It can’t be leveraged for 2024, so liberals everywhere are hoping the next year provides them with another career criminal/drain on society to become the martyr they rally around

... because the MSM and left-wing agents took this issue and aggrandized Floyd, making him some noble martyr, they are reacting to that. Facts are, he was passing fake $20s, was a druggie, had a sour history and was a piece of ****. Now me, even a piece of **** has human rights and can be mistreated. More and more, I see this and not having a good grasp of fent or how it works, it seems like manslaughter.

As for the MSM, they didn't have to push their agenda. All they had to do was show the clip to spark the outrage it did.
As for Chauvin, I think he deserved what he got. It's not about criminals vs cops. It's life taken, get your own life taken. That's what cops that get persecuted deserve when they take a life with little disregard.

I take no exception with your opinion here, agree with much of it to be honest, but I do think I perceive this as far less cut and dry. Like with Chauvin, I don't think he deserved what he got. He was depicted as a callous racist murder *nationwide* and found guilty of a far worse crime than what I feel would have been just (and he might have been railroaded at that). At the same time - I also do not think he was perfectly innocent and reject some of the comments in this very thread completely disregarding Floyd. While Floyd was not this Sainty Role Model, deserving of grand statues and posthumous praise, even a troubled person engaging in a criminal act has rights.
Wish the conversation less tribalistic, with both sides. A lot of people look at this objectively wrong in my book.
I will also say to you, you're taking a lot of **** in this thread. I disagree with that. You sharing your own troubled history sheds light on this and gives your opinion on this drug more weight. I also think it's brave of anyone to admit past mistakes. I've taken great issue with some of your past posts but throughout this thread you've been great and I appreciate your insight and someone with a different perspective as my own to debate with.

NO one considers a criminal a saint, but because we we are/are a nation of laws......... there are certain basic rights that are expected.
When the EMT and police academy trainee were yelling at Chauvin, i thought change George's body position so he can breathe.
No other emotions were involved.
