Hello, my living room TV has developed a few dead pixels. Its a Samsung from about a 2011 model. Its been a pretty good TV so far.

Anyways I want to replace this thing soon, I had a Sharp Aquos once, it appears that brand is obsolete.

I know nothing about TVs tbh.

Money isnt really an issue

I do play a PS5 and switch in the living room. Other than that its netflix and HD TV sometimes.

just get an OLED 55 inch from LG, C2 or C3, call it a day. Its the best all around.

Dont listen to the cucks that tell you to get a poverty TCL or hisense Led tv.

Get the Samsung S95C, it's the best. I've got the S95B, love it.

What's your budget? You said money isn't an issue but you should have a sensible amount in mind because the sky is the limit when it comes to buying a TV.

This. C3 is the newest one out, main difference you need to know. C2 is mentioned because if you can still find a brand new one for a good price/deal, get it.

Oled is Def the best picture quality but truthfully it's not the TV you want if you like to just leave your tv on all day and not care about stuff like that. It just takes a little bit of extra awareness and care. But the trade off is absolutely amazing picture quality. Esp the qd-oled panels, they are insane seriously.

Luckily a very nice thing about the new consoles is the quick resume. Going from tv off to in game is still super quick.

Of course, even if you do leave your oled on, there's the built in screen saver into power down. So not a big deal either really.

But realistically if you want to not care about your tv for another 10 years and still have a great picture quality then get a top end qled or whatever. I would not buy an oled and expect it to last more then probably 5-6 years without some issues popping up. My LG cx from 2021 is already being serviced under warranty. Meanwhile every led TV or monitor I've ever owned has lasted over 10 years no problem.

This. OP you need to be aware of your usage patterns to decide if QLED or OLED is best for you. Do you have many windows in the room with lots of sunlight coming in? Do you watch channels with logos or play games with a static HUD? Then it's best you go for a QLED.

If your room is darker and you generally change up your content often (no static elements always on screen for extended periods) then you can get an LG C2 OLED.

I love my OLED but I avoid playing certain games on it for risk of burn in. I also have a QLED so games with static elements (Baldur's Gate 3 etc) I play on that as it won't suffer from burn in.

Tbh since I got the s90c the bright room thing is a non issue. My LG cx was much dimmer, and was generally darker in daytime, with dolby vision stuff being reallyyyy dark.

But holy fuk the qd-oled gets so bright. The difference from a 2021 cx to a 2023 s90c is kind of wild. I did not expect such a picture quality upgrade in a ~2 year window of oled tech.

My eyes are like masterfully scolded with screen light that from years of sitting so close to my monitors. I almost never feel like a screen is too bright. My s90c at night in a dark room is the first screen I've ever owned to genuinely hurt my eyes to the point where I I turn on eco mode at night to watch youtube crap before bed.


Tbh I'm sure you are familiar with how Samsung phones and tablets have that contrast and color cranked up, sometimes to wildly inaccurate values, the TV (i own) is very similar. If you go full brightness/contrast/oled light it's kind of absurd looking lol. Like think of your s23 ultra on full brightness... It's just.. Alot lol

Yep and I can only imagine how much that crazy saturation and brightness would amplify the burn in situation. It's weird for me, over time I have been turning the brightness down on my C2 as my eyes begin to adjust and it feels so much better now. I think I'm somewhere like 60-65% pixel brightness while playing Jedi Survivor and I'm more than happy.

Tbh if you've been used to an LCD from 2011, practically anything you buy you're gonna fkin love and will be leaps and bounds above what you're replacing. I'd not recommend an OLED since you clearly don't care too much about PQ else you'd have upgraded years ago, just something serviceable should be fine.
Sony X90K is a nice mid ranger, and you won't have to care for it like you do OLED. Keep your game paused all day and there won't be any burn in.

Money isn't an issue is one thing but you could drop $500 and have a better TV than your 2011 TV so being that you weren't looking to spend a little money to upgrade that for the past decade, how much you want to spend on a new TV really needs to be discussed. U8K and QM8 are the top budget options, could step up a bit to the X90L, or step further up to the X93L. But those would be my 4 mid-range picks. IMO if you are going to go OLED pay the extra and get the best, A95L; but like others have said, I'd really consider use case carefully before going OLED, for most people it's still not the best choice.Is this post from 5 years ago? ayy lmao people still scared about burning on an OLED Tv, its practically non existing right now unless you go full retard for a year straight with CNN. I use and abuse my oleds tv since a while ago with no burn in, gaming and everything. you can leave it on all day if you want it will automatically go into screen saver black mode.

LG are pretty much the best OLED overall, quality price and longetivity matured. , Sony have better picture but more expensive. Samsungs have higher brightness but less reliable , newer qd oled tech . and samgsungs are less reliable as it is.

I bought a LG C1 55" in 2021 and it was the best thing I ever did.

Initially my budget was only $1000, but i was like **** it and ended up paying $1600 for a TV.

Would highly recommend LG OLED especially if you got access to lots of good HDR content.
