even if you hate gta you can't deny rockstars games are revolutionary

this will be the first truly next gen game

yeah I'm aware it's gonna be online focus for most part but I can still hope lol

seriously pisses me off when I tried to replay V some time ago (the campaign, online has never interested me) and turned out I had to completely install the online and then I could install the campaign as an add-on

I grew up during the release of the GTA games and I never saw the allure in them. Always played a few hours and never felt continued to keep playing.

GTA2 on dreamcast (where it was a top down map) is probably the GTA I played most of. I remember in highschool my buddy was really into San Andreas.

Gotta agree with this, the last one I played was Vice City. I really don't understand what all the fuss is about but maybe I should at least try out or watch a playthrough of GTA V

i think what makes gta so great is the freedom, you can do nearly anything you can think of. whereas in other open world games the world's just feel dead. los santos in gta5 felt alive everywhere you went add to that the attention to detail, the story, the humor etc. there's a reason people still play it so much 10 years later

i do hate online though, but i hate all online games

Yeah SA was the only one I actually wanted to replay.

Never got the appeal of 1 and 2 just thought the whole thing was confusing. 3 was actually mindblowing at the time but then Mute Man got pretty boring pretty fast. Vice City was ok but just looked way too rough. Dropped 4 about an hour in and never played 5.

You can steal cars, run over civilians while driving, shoot at the police - have them chase you. do crime. comedy is gold between character interactions. npcs feel alive because they have a more detailed/realistic reactions compared to other AAA open world games. physics is great. Rockstar games are amazing with the little gameplay details like glass break physics, tires will become flat if you shoot them, animals will poop, etc.

story writing have always been subpar though and the message of the gta games aren't that deep. if you're the type of gamer that enjoy doing those things i said above, you'll like it. for me they're more like games i'd play when i'm really bored and i just want some mindless fun.

I might get this one on sale, try it out, explore around the city and do stuff and never finish it like gta 5, 4, and 3.
