Just attempted to watch 'Lady Ballers' by DW

My God, that was awful. I made it through 45 minutes. The cringe was just too much. The acting is so bad, especially Jeremy. He needs to stick to running companies behind the scenes. Casting the people from their main shows for this movie just feels forced.

I like what the DW is doing politically but the only good movie they put out so far was 'What is a Woman'.

Not sure what Lady Ballers is but What is a Woman was more of a documentary...

Not too surprised, they had a lot working against them. Also, the premise is funny - but 90m funny?

Is a low budget film, so…

What most don’t realize is that no one in show business will fund, sponsor, or promote a movie like this, because they think it would be business suicide. People would love the movie, but the tiny collectives have huge influence and funding to take down anyone involved. The people that put films in to the movie theaters wouldn’t even consider Lady Ballers. Few actors would be willing to get involved either, because Hollywood is savage to anyone that steps out of line. Careers are ended doing anything like this. Hell, actors who posted conservative views on Twitter were no longer able to find work.

So I’m going to watch it keeping these things in mind. I think having a connection with the actors counts for something too.
