Was reading online on forums and reddit. Women that attended meet ups and singles dating events straight up said they didn’t like the type of guys that went. They weren’t attracted to them and thought they were weird and some posts said they wouldn’t even want a platonic friendship with them.

That’s because the males attending these events are miscer/reddit types that read online that this is a way to meet girls. Except the issues they run into is that that the girls don’t want them.

Common complaints listed:
-unattractive
-bald or balding with buzz cut
-dressed in jeans and t shirt while the ladies dressed nice (if you’re a good looking guy then jeans and t shirt is Perfectly fine).
-socially awkward
-nerdy
-didn’t vibe well (aka not attractive)

The women straight up said that they knew they wouldn’t find the type of guy they want because the type of guy they want already most likely had a girlfriend or have no issues with finding girls irl or online.

“Just try speed dating bro”
“Just go in with low expectations bro even if you don’t meet anyone to date you may make a female friend that can introduce you to her friends….bro”

I would never go to one cause I do think it's weird

but I think it's better for the older crowd who don't want the filth that they see on the apps in their age group. I'm sure there are other like-minded women that go to these events with the intent of meeting someone. It's a lot harder to meet people as you age for dating in that 33-39 age range. and it was probably more popular in the cities and before social media dating apps.
