How do NEETs do it?

I haven’t left my home since Friday and I’m legit losing my mind (srs). How do you NEETs do this everyday?

I had a situation like this when I was unemployed in 2020. Finished my masters in March right as Covid hit, and then it was a slog through the worst job market in a decade.

Rotmaxxing on Admiral Nelson and Call of Duty was fun for like 2 weeks, but then it turned into Groundhog Day. And I had no idea when it would end. I could go a month without an interview, I could go all the way to a final interview and get rejected, and all the while, I was just laying around my parents' house not doing chit.

By like July, I was begging my parents to wash their fence or mow their lawn or something (they wouldn't let me, because boomer self-reliance and having others do your work shows weakness). It was soul crushing.

My cousin is a NEET. 22 years old and hasn't done a damn thing since he graduated HS. He thinks he's smart not going to college (going into debt) but he's also not pursuing further education (certifications/certificates for the Trades etc). From my vantage point, he just spends all day fapping, stuffing his face with junkfood which puts him into a food coma then wakes up at, iike, 6pm and plays video games all night.

His parents my (aunt) is a hyper helicopter-parent so she loves it that he just stays at home and does nothing, because she knows where he is at all times. In a way, she's an enabler of his lifestyle.

Being a NEET is the best way to develop a physique. Most people complain that they don’t have enough time in the day to train with weights, and that’s the first thing some people say when they see a bodybuilder: “He must have a lot of time on his hands.”

If you’re a NEET and you don’t take advantage of that free time to train, then you’re not using your time wisely.
Exercise will get you through times of ill health better than no exercise will get you through times of good health.

I semi retired 6 months ago, knew it wasn't permanent, but also wasn't going to be getting up and grinding everyday for awhile. Plan was to make it until my youngest started school full time. Nope!

Losing my mind, getting fatter already, even with the extra gym time.

Starting a med spa and selling botox/test/ozempic now. Excited to get back to work tbh.

Some ldar, others have the means to live comfortably without employment (either lots of money in bank, or parents, etc).

I only make $12k/yr through my pension. It's my only income. I live day to day by the grace of God. Warm bed to sleep on, roof over my head for shelter, food in my belly. My bank account monthly avg is around $300.

I also seem to have enough resources to live life doing what I enjoy.

This. I’d be NEETmaxxing if I could. While I do believe work gives us dignity, the 9-5 wage slavery system is a soul sucking dead end. I would rather pursue hobbies and interests, getting paid for work completed on my own time without worrying about my financial burdens. Unfortunately that lifestyle is a fantasy for now.
