Rate dinner/10 —deadlystriker steak edition
I think in my last dinner thread for chicken, I mentioned I was gonna make steak. I can’t remember who wanted to see it after, but I know deadlystriker is one of our resident steak chefs on the misc, so here’s to you!!!
So… am I doing it right?

Bringing to room temp while also sugar salting the meat to season/tenderize it/brine it. Also added a layer of soy sauce for some flavor (also a good way to get rubs to stick)

After warming in the oven. I KNOW! The pan should have been hotter so I could have gotten a better crust. But this stove isn’t the best—wish I had a gas one.

Mushrooms with red wine, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, Dijon mustard. So saucy and good.

Was aiming for around medium rare.

Twice baked potatoes—restuffed its own mashed potato innards with cheese, green onion, parsley, roasted garlic

Nothing more comforting than food and eating that food together

I’ll be working on some art next… I want to do a portrait as a gift when I go to the viewing.

So I buy, especially terragon. In the summer, I do have different thyme, basil, parsley, rosemary, oregano, cilantro. Mayhaps I should get my hydroponic garden system out to grow some indoors during the winter….

I live in a snow globe. This is super mild, but just wait until. Jan/feb—snow fall can get so heavy.Sorta excited though because I want to break out the snowboard and plan a trip with my friends.

Soy, mushroom, tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, anchovies/certain fish, seaweed… use your ingredients correctly to enhance natural meaty/beefy flavors. Umami
There’s also balancing/utilizing salt, sugar, acids, fats to add dimension to your flavour.
But you don’t have to eat it, thanks for stoping by.
