Howdy Cement....

I was curious about that one even with all the remakes.

Good to hear it may be worthy of our time.

Back to it.

It's just a normal movie, with a underlying message that isn't about white people or men being evil, it's actually something that should speak to everyone (fear, trauma, regret, the horror of war, etc).

It's not Citizen Kane but it's a good movie and in 2023, it's been the only 'normal' movie I've seen, which is why it is standing out so much. Zero wokeness, women are in it, important, but not Girl Boss superwomen, no they act like normal women. No trannies, no gay agenda, white people are not the root of all Evil, etc...

I'd rate it with a very strong genre film, like Jaws (which it draws heavy inspiration from) and for the most part just a good movie, emotional and fairly powerful with a positive message and great (foreign) acting. Special effects are cheaper yet resonate - unlike anything else in 2023, where it's expensive and fake as fuk (go see the trailer for Wonka and compare).

I actually think the movie is pretty great and bears re-watching, although it's out of theaters soon. I've seen it twice and the second time, the emotional side of things hit me a lot harder, when I was past the spectacle of it (which, it is about a giant monster). There is a pretty serious story being told with strong characters and the beats can hit you pretty hard.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

It was very well done. It can beat out some movies in the drama category of films as an action movie as well. It was very impressive storytelling, and visual effects. The CGI was something else, and not over done like a lot of american movies where it looks like someone took a diarrhea on the screen. Nothing looks totally unrealistic to the point of taking you out from being immersed in a film, and nauseated at special effects. The movie had it all, action, drama, humor, great storytelling, and no woke bs. An instant classic and must watch.

Very cute creature.

FYI There was very little CGI in the movie. Some boats and some planes were... also when Godzilla would heal from wounds it was cgi. But it was mostly models and a suit actor. His tail was CGI many times... but most of the film is practical effects.

One of the funniest and coolest scenes is when Godzilla just decides to bum rush a building in Ginza. Not only was it it super cool. But he just turns... looks at the building and rips it to shreds for no real reason. I laughed. I thought "U mad bro"?

This movie was fantastic!
I say it's the best movie I have seen in like 20 years. Had an actual emotional human story and Big G was tearing it up like only he can.
If there is any fairness in the movie business, this should win the award for best picture. srs.
