do you regret not becoming a pro athlete?
if only our dads pushed us a little harder
if only we were low inhibition enough to buy those PEDs as a teen
paid millions and everyone thinks you're a hero

Not really
Taking PEDs for 2 decades straight and not having a guarantee that you will be good enough is a huge ass risk.
I mean with sports, you are either superrich or a peasent in some shyt league that nobody knows about

I skipped college after high school to focus on becoming a professional wrestler but like most i never let those dreams leave my front door . I regret not going to wrestling school and never getting a WWE tryout at all!

No chance I could have in the sport I wanted. Hockey in NC isn’t a strong place to get through elite ranks. I’d have had to move to CT and live with family to get a look from schools that would have been worth it, if I were even good enough.
So, no. I never really tried either though, it was always “it’d be cool if” but it’s expensive and my parents didn’t have a lot of money so no chance out of the gate.

Regret... Like most people even had a choice in the matter.
Pro athletes won the genetic lottery. Thats their starting base/advantage.

It's funny how standards are dropping in education/academia, civil services, and even the military but exacting standards remain in professional sports. No such thing as Diversity, Equity, or Inclusion when it comes to pro-league sports.

I was a good baseball player, but even with all the PEDS in the world I’d not have reached a pro level.
I play golf now. And it’s probably even more the case lol but who knows since I didn’t start at like 4 years old.

Athleticism is genetic. You could take any amount of drugs in the world and it still wouldn’t make you an athlete.

Of course not. I was terrible at sports as a kid. I could throw a ball and catch and stuff so I was ok at little league but thats about it. Lots of kids were like that.
Also was lazy and arrogant so it was hard to tell me to do anything, still is. Obviously training and practice and all that were not a thing for me, neither was school.
I didnt really get into working out until my 40's.
I could however throw a football a quarter mile and if coach would have put me in that last game, things might have been different.

I never would have been able to.
It was not written in my story. No amount of ambition or pushing when I was younger could have been enough to compensate for my lack of natural ability.

I could have went pro into what realistically would have been a mid level MLS soccer career.
Probably wouldn't have been worth it, I'm 35 now so I'd be nearing the end of my career.
MLS is barely popular now, back then players salaries were dogchit.
My youth coach worked for the metrostars/redbull and his son went pro into the MLS and didn't last very long.

I had potential and went to national competitions competing against college guys preparing for the NFL draft as a high school athlete. Won the entire competitions a couple times. But made bad decisions when I was young

Still, even one of my friends played the tour and told me stories about how women were playing injured so they could make enough money to pay for their next flight to the next tournament.
It doesn't sound as glamorous as it is at the top.

I never had the making of a varsity athlete.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

What if you start at a very early age?
Brock Lesnar did push ups, sit ups, weights, heavy cardio since he was age 6.
It doesn’t have to come god given?
Brock Lesnar to this day does push ups with 3 chairs because since he was 8 the floor just isn’t deep enough for him. With 3 chairs Brock can go deeper and the floor isn’t stopping him. He jogs with a log on his back that weights 200 lb !

You could be the most amazing athlete at whatever sport and rip your ACL in practice before your career ever took off then its over for you.
So nobody can "guarantee" they could have been a pro athlete.
Also that is why its a good decision for these guys to skip college sports and go pro from highschool if they got a fat contract dangling in front of them. Imagine playing college sports for nearly "free" and getting a career ending injury before you signed for the NBA.

How delusional is the average normie, that they think they could be part of the 0.000000001% group of people that plays pro sports, if only they trained hard and did enough PED's.
