Is it because it's similar to Bloodborne and people are starved for that particular game? or is the setting of the game just a lot more different and unique (pinnochio/steampunk esque)


Or is this just part of the souls hype ... I've noticed a lot of souls-like games seem to be very positively looked upon and reviewed ... Nioh, Souls games, Lies of P, Lords of the fallen etc


How would you rate Lies of P against Elden Ring? or other game from the OG Fromsoft?




Curious because I'm not really into Souls games myself nor have I can played it ..... but I can appreciate them and understand why people like it so much, but I'm just wondering why Lies of P is such a big hit.

I have not played it but I have heard it's as good as any souls game, from my friends who are obsessed with the souls games.

There is a group of dudes I used to play destiny with from my old job and in their discord they have dark souls/elden ring drinking games and chit. They like to play these kind of games and stream gameplay to eachother thru discord and they came up with some drinking rules regarding bosses and stuff I think.

So, personally I don't know anyone irl more into the souls games, so for them to say lies of p is as good or better then any of them, must be a pretty damn good game, cause these dudes really are into those games.

nobody i know irl plays souls games either lol .... i mean only one of my relatives, but that's about it.


The only people i see hyping up souls games are fellas on the internet and the forums. Not that it's a bad thing because most of my group and most people i know irl only play multiplayer or FTP games ... with a few on singleplayer game such as the usual big hitters like sony games, sports games and gta etc. So I dont really engage in gaming discussions with them other than a surface level.


But yeah, just from the online discussions, seems like all these souls fans have a pretty nice community and everyone seems to play all the souls/souls clones that come out and they genuinely seem to enjoy them. Doesn't seem like there's a "bad" souls clone either lol.

Because it's like a fromsoftware game, but it has a story that you can actually follow.
