Dear Diary, two life lessons reinforced in the gym this week
Lesson 1- Always do your best, you never know who is watching
Lesson 2- Be kind and generous to others
I'll give you the TLDR of each one since I know we have no attention span here on the misc
Lesson 1:
I have scoliosis and it makes squatting any significant weight very difficult due to shifting and imbalances
I usually do sets of 8 of ATG paused squats with around 185, I consider both my form and weight to be pathetic for a lifter of 20 years
Guy randomly stops me in the gym and asks me for squat tips because he was impressed I squat so low and with such control
Even though you think you may suck at something, someone else may be looking to you for inspiration
Lesson 2:
I use velcro cuffs on a lot of my cable movements, especially cable laterals
A few gym regulars were asking me about the cuffs
I went on Amazon and bought a few pairs to give out to the people who were asking about them
Yesterday I got to the gym and realized my cuffs weren't in my bag, seems I lost them somewhere
Talking to a gym bro about it and he offers me to use the pair of cuffs I got for him that he now uses on a regular basis
You never know when being kind/generous to someone will come back to repay you

185kg squats for sets of 8 is decent.
Your story reminds me of the tren fairy that used to leave vials of tren in random people’s bags at the gym. Nice fairy, we need more like him

Going ATG is hard, someone who can squat some heavy weight wouldn't be able to hit that same number ATG. Most likely a third or half of it.
Either way, someone squatting with killer form is rare.

Those cuffs are goat for side delts. I first became aware of them because of that bald hypertrophy miscer who used to put bands on the hack squat.
