Anyone else think the cannonball run is a better movie than

Smokey and the Bandit?

I love both movies and Jackie Gleason is really who made the smokey films. Even as good as burt was as the bandit and Jerry Reed as snowman but cannonball run is just a good time movie with plenty of laughs that never gets old.

For those of you who have seen both which do you prefer?

Cannonball Run was definitely better.

I just couldn't get into Smokey and the Bandit. It had it's moments, but far and few between.

Both are great. Prefer Smokey and the Bandit, but Cannonball Run is funnier.

Neither tops Death Race 2000 tho

Smokey and The Bandit. Never watch the edited for TV version though. They censor out half the stuff Jackie Gleason says and like you said that's a big part of what made the movie.

absolutely not. The best thing about Smokey was watching Burt and Sally Field fall in love in real life - 90% of their scenes together were ad-libbed
