Had a scare while bench pressing today
First time going above 400 in a few months. Hit 405 for a single. My sticking point is always when the weight transitions to my triceps 10-12 inches off my chest. So anyways, It moved fast off my chest, moved slow through the sticking point and then accelerated again to lockout. Normally I kinda slow down intentionally as I'm locking out but today was a grinder and was just focused on trying to get the bar accelerating through my sticking point. My elbows locked out hard. Felt an uncomfortable amount of pressure on my elbows although not tweaks or injury. Gonna have to be aware of that going forward, that's like my biggest fear on bench is hyperextending and breaking an elbow.

I never lockout on lifts, dat dere partial ROM. As a result, never had injuries. Can't imagine the stress of locking out on 405, that's rough!

Just imagining it makes me wince.
This is the first time I feel lucky that I'm not or would never be as strong as someone like you.
Keep it coming but be careful, brother. *bow*

the Chinese believe that if you eat the part of the animal that you're trying to heal on yourself, it will contain everything you need to repair it
for example, if you're a drunk, you eat beef liver etc.
in your case, a few large bowls of elbow macaroni will fix you right up or your money back srs

Likely you are past your point of peak strength and you’ll continue to get injured as you try to chase it and don’t adapt your lifting to getting older
Or you’ll take more dat der and keep pushing I guess
Or you’ll take more dat der and keep pushing I guess

Not that I really care cause I'm definitely going to keep pushing my strength.

huh that's weird. I always pop my lockouts but can't say I've ever had that particular fear even pop into my mind. do you have an issue with joint hypermobility or something?
Lifts:
Squat: 460x1
Bench: 400x1
Deadlift: 575x1
OHP: 250x2
Weight: 180 lbs.
Don't have heroes; look up to no one. Because as long as someone's leading the way, the best you'll ever be is second.
