What program are you on right now?

Let's talk lifting!

Are you on your own routine? Have a coach? Using a book or online routine?

How's is going? Acquiring strength and mass?

I've been on 531 sans deadlifts for months now. Love this damn program. Have the original book, but think I'll go ahead and buy Beyond 5/3/1

After my main lift, I do a different lift using the same muscle group, and two lifts with the antagonizing muscle groups.

What about you?
I'm back, bitches!

Legs push pull legs rest

Adding lots of mass on my legs since I never really lifted legs before due to numerous injuries.

Bro split. I enjoy it a lot. Really focusing on just 1 muscle is great imo. I’ve tried a lot of different programs but it’s hard to justify training 2 big muscle groups in the same day and let alone twice a week.

Been fooling around a bit recently with a pseudo-upper-lower, pseudo-PPL.... honestly I don't even know what to call it and I've been screwing around with frequency/volume a little bit and making small adjustments here and there.

Basically currently doing 4/week.

D1 Chest+Back+Bis
D2 Legs+Delts (Heavy focus on posterior lower body)
D3 Back+Chest+Tris
D4 Legs+Delts (Heavy focus on anterior lower body)

Trilationship works out to medium Frequency (twice per week), low Volume (Only 2 movements per muscle group per day and only 3-5 sets per movement), high Intensity (significant portions of each set end up at/near failure, utilize dropsets, statics, negatives, etc.)

Each day gets a 'primary' lift foreachmuscle group - have been adding weight and/or reps each workout.
Then a secondary lift that uses similar force production follows.

Actually not unlike yours:

Workout A
Linear progression
3 sets squats (low effort)
3 sets RDL (low effort)
5 sets push
5 sets pull
3 sets bi’s and tri’s SS
2 sets RB pull apart

Workout B

Just something I’ve throw together since my dislocation. Work in progress.

Every other day.

Hurts. I had an easier recovery from the revision 2 years ago. I did some damage either trying to get it back in, or when I passed out.
After the operation I took prescribed pain killers maybe 2 days, over the counter maybe 2-3 days after that.
With the dislocation I took the prescription for about a week, over the counter daily for 2 more. Now maybe once or twice a week.
Dropped about 15lbs though. Some of it was from stopping creatine.

No ETA. I’m going back to ortho in 2 months, for a re-evaluation. I’m 53. All my problems were caused by a car accident. I’d say just being active and lifting weights is solid prevention. I was a pretty strong brah before my accident.

One thing that stood out to me at least, was pre-accident I always did neck work. During the accident one of many injuries, was that I broke my c1 and c2 vertebrae. But it didn’t bother me. Was just a little sore. I feel like the neck work kept that injury from killing me or leaving me a Quadriplegic.

I've been switching between a bro split and PPL depending on the week, plus cardio almost daily (running and biking). Been switching around rep ranges and feel good about that. I gained almost 15lbs since summer, so slowly trying to trim it off.

Upper/lower Lyle McDonald style, 3 days per week.

Love this one. Easily sustainable permanently, never overtrain or stress the rotator etc.

Cardio (running, biking, arc trainer)

Followed by full body circuit training (usually 5-6 exercises) 3 sets x4days a week.

Not looking to out on any mass.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

It's like a modified PPL using my power rack. Mostly just heavy compound lifts using Yates/Mentzer high intensity/heavy duty lifting philosophy. Reduced isolation exercises. Often times stretch -> 2 warmups -> 2 working sets per large compound. Done in 45 minutes. I'm getting older so I try to stay limber by doing lots of stretching and functional outdoor exercises as well.
