Work Christmas party tomorrow ... what to expect?

What are your experiences?

I work for a bank and about 90 people are gonna attend tomorrow. We're going to a good bar/restaurant. Gonna be plenty of alcohol.

All managers attending too.

What to expect? I drink rarely, like a few times a year. I wanna see some crazy things. I wanna see **** that will get people fired. I'm here for it.

Keep going to the bar and getting drinks for people, it's a little bit of work, but sort of target the same 4-5 people. Get them real drunk real early then sit back, have a beer and enjoy the show.

Find a couple of people you get along well with and then dip later on and go somewhere else if you want to have a big/good night. But don't drink too much at the work party.

Really depends. I've worked for some places that are gong shows at Xmas parties but it was mostly in sales or fitness clubs.

Are spouses/partners allowed? If not, then there could be some drama when people who are thinking about hooking up get really smashed together. The other thing to watch out for is the older perv guys hitting on the younger tellers or staff.

We had ours recently. I don't drink but all my coworkers got chit faced. We ended up at a dive bar and 2 coworkers sang "because I got high - Afro man" on karaoke. Our supervisor filmed it and sent the video to his mom... Another supervisor got fukked up and some random chick started grinding on him while he was singing karaoke and his wife almost got into a fight with the sloot. Another coworker got in a fight with some black dude. Another coworker passed out standing up at a urinal with his dick out. It was an interesting night.

My dad punched a dj dressed as rudolph one year and caught a charge. Another year he broke my mom's leg and the cops put a warrant out for him, he ran to another state.

Had one in 2022. Lame as fukk. They gave out tickets at the door for 2 alcoholic drinks max, which was smart on the company's end but lame as fukk for the employees. I just stood around with a bunch of barely buzzed ****** for 3 hours, then Uber'ed to go get drunk solo at another bar.

2023's was cancelled because of bad earnings, and then they laid me off in October anyway. JFL at Biden's economy.

I hate office Christmas parties. We just had ours. It was mediocre food and cringeworthy team building initiatives under the guise of โ€œfun.โ€ We were given assigned seats like elementary school children to socialize us with coworkers we donโ€™t know. For the most part everyone sat there awkwardly, I had crazy anxiety waiting for it to end.

At my last job (a FAR more prestigious company) they used to rent out the ballroom of a luxury hotel downtown and cater good food. That part was nice. There was also an open bar though and I donโ€™t drink, so I would be sitting there while management got chit faced stumbling over themselves, slurring their words, dancing awkwardly, hitting on coworkers. It was fkin cringe srs.

The best party they could throw for me is letting me go home so I can have some peace.

also, be careful with the alcohol consumption OP. yes, you're allowed to drink, but you're still on company time when you're there.

My last job we would get smashed like every other week โ€œhappy hourโ€. Where my director stayed they had a pool with a bar/grill. We would get fukd up a couple times my manager, director, and his wife we would take shrooms and chill in the pool

HR is probably going to be the drunkest department other than that just chill with the person you usually hang out with at work and people watch all night while you slowly get just drunk enough to enjoy being there.
