This game is solid. Grinded early on and am smoking all the bad guys later on in the game so easily it's almost boring.

I was thinking of getting this or the wonder one but I have not looked into them properly yet. I may have to check it out.

The original was easy, too. Doesn't matter tho; the game was fun.

I remember thinking this game was so hard when I was like 7 or whatever. Now it seems painfully easy, but still a lot of fun. It would still hold up as a great intro RPG game, or for someone just looking for chits and giggles.


The gameplay is exactly the same, just better graphics (how remakes should be done, imo). The biggest differences I notice between playing it now and them is now I'm actually getting all the flower (magic) points. They also actually made frog coins (special currency in the game for specific items) slightly reasonable to come by, instead of rarer than a seagull chitting on you car in your driveway that is nowhere near the ocean or any lakes.

Save for a couple of small quality of life/dialog changes, the game is essentially a 1:1 remake of the original. The only complaint I hear from people is that if you've played the original to death you'd essentially be playing the same game all over again, but with prettier graphics.

was never able to get 100 super jumps in a row

after 30 it got really hard

easiest spot to grind is the sunken ship. battle the dry bones with mallow and thunderstorm all 6 of them in one shot. easy xp and level 30 in no time

I grinded all game long, but the whole sunken ship and Land's End were great for near the end of game grinding.

I will see my grave before I pull off 100 super jumps in a row. Your thumb would be raw doing that on a classic Super Nintendo controller haha.

They actually dropped that part of the title for the remake.

The new version actually has an item inventory list that isn't completely stupid.
