Depends on the situation. In a grocery store parking lot where everyone else pulls in? I pull in to.

In my garage at work? I back in

covid created a situation where i helped a family member retest for a license so that is part of the new test.
an obstacle course test with backing in being 1 of 4 tests.

I don't do it, it takes too long, and makes others wait while you perfect it.

The slanted spots in the parking lot aren't designed to back in because of how the traffic flows. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

No I almost always go in like normal. I can back out just fine when I need to leave. People who want to back in all the time are typically inconsiderate asswipes who make everyone wait in them

Less than 2% of the time.

The only times I really do it, are when I go into a parking spot driving forward and my alignment is crappy, so I got into reverse with the intention of repositioning, then I happen to see on my reverse camera that I'm already nearly perfectly aligned for a vacant spot behind me.

I think if I were to actually go into a parking situation with the intentions of doing it, I'd be nervous and phark it up, look stupid in front of a passenger, etc.

Parking forward into parking spots are the least efficient way to park. Backing up you not only can park perfectly but you also have more view-ability when you want to come out of it. Parking forward into spots should actually be illegal. The ones who complain about how it's an ego thing just don't know how to drive or park.

Depends on the situation. If it's a crowded and tight parking lot, or if there are people behind me ... I'll pull forward. If there is a lot of free spaces and nobody waiting behind me, I'll go ahead and back in, though I usually need a couple tries to get centered correctly

most bad parking jobs and accidents in parking lots are caused by drivers who park forward. if you drive a car two trucks park next you and you try to back out you literally couldn't see anything. it's actually shocking how it's not illegal

Driving forward when you're doing groceries makes the most sense because it gives you easier access to the trunk. I always lol at people who back in and then struggle to load their groceries. Like you couldn't think far enough ahead to see that being an issue. Those are the ass wipes that'll ding your car up when they try to push a cart between cars to get to the back.

Depends on the situation. Sometimes with my truck it's easier to back in, sometimes easier to pull in. Required reverse parking is pretty much the norm now in the oilfield. The only accident we ever had in the parking lot was someone who reverse parked into a motorcycle.

Morons that reverse park in angled spots that make everyone wait while they back in and out multiple times or just flat out drive the wrong way so they don't have to should be shot.

In tight lots i pretty much need to park in reverse for it to be a perfect park, so i do it around 50% of the time. People with trucks or full size suvs will understand.

in case of emergency evacuation the first responders always recommend backing in at parking lots because if everyone tries to leave at once its easier to get out in single turn motion when car is facing forward.

in big cities, parking lots are tiny and narrow so theres not much room to back in so you just pull in.

That makes sense if you live in a big city. I don't live in a big city. I just park way in the back where there are lots of spaces. Its funny, I see people driving around trying to find a close spot, 95% of the time I beat them into the store.

The most efficient way to park in extremely tight places where the parking rows are to close to each other is by backing up. This comes especially handy when you drive a large car. There are some spots that you simply cant park going forward.

There is a right and wrong answer to this. You want to be reversing into the area with the fewest obstructions/obstacles (i.e. the most open area) and pulling forward into the area with more obstructions/obstacles (i.e. the tightest area). This is a very good IQ test IMO.
