The game has changed so much over the last few years that a lot of the brands I was slanging nobody wants anymore or they became oversaturated. I think you could still do pretty well if you can find stuff like Hermes neckties, Barbour/Belstaff jackets, Filson flannel shirts (or anything CC Filson for that matter) etc it'll still move. Anything made in the USA did pretty good.

Poshmark crew, most of the listing I like and revisit don't sell for months, and when they do move, the seller's cut for a shirt or slacks is like $15. Like fawwwk... if you are paying for clothes up front, and then putting time into listing and shipping them, how much are you making by the end of it?

Trying to sell standard designer stuff is tough and not worth it imo unless you're doing extremely high volume. For example, in 2010 you could still sell a standard ass polo Ralph Lauren shirt for $20 and it wouldn't even take that long to sell. Nowadays, the shirt is not moving. Itmightmove at $10 and after shipping and fees you might as well have saved time and given it to Goodwill.


There needs to be something special about it (like one of those rare bear sweaters) or a top top tier expensive brand.

I buy and sell Dixxon flannels. They are limited releases. You learn the trends of colors and collabs and such and you can flip most of them fairly easily in ******** groups or sell them on Ebay.

Go to Macy's, JC Penny, stores no one goes to anymore, they usually have deals and clearance items, coupons, you can get tons of stuff for nothing. Best thing I have found are comforter sets and bed apparel. People buy that garbage at huge markups, usually 50-75% what I buy it for.

There's a polyester shirt company called RSVLTS whose game plan is constant pop culture themed limited releases, buy it before it's gone. They have an active FB group flipping chit, and the rule of thumb is a $70 new shirt is worth $50 used if it still looks fine. Some "whale" stuff can actually appreciate.

Compare to say J Crew dad shirts or chit, where a $120 new shirt at the mall is worth like $20 used and may not even move.

small margins and im the uk so not sure of viability over there but theres a store here called b&m and they sell loads of cheap decorative tat for less than a fiver like mirror trays with candles on etc etc. people love buying quirky stuff so itll be almost impossible to not move it for a profit on ebay where you can oversell. always wanted to do it myself but im lazy

I used to fix and flip iPhones about 10 years ago, it was a decent side gig. No idea if it'll be profitable now.

I'm in the UK, Vinted seems to have a younger user base that values different brands than boomers. There's brands I'm pulling from there and selling on ebay to what I assume is older people. Even with the final sale fee you can still make a decentish profit on some things

I dont flip things anymore. I just sell old electronics after i upgraded to recoup some of the cost.

I have sold quite a bit of stuff and some things sell more than others obviously.

I try to cater more to men because they are usually easier to work with, dont whine about every little thing and fewer returns.

Pocket watches are almost guaranteed sellers. Not even talking about fancy ones either. I had a bunch of timex ones that sold right away. If you come across these they will sell right away.

Also tie pins like clasps and such, had a bunch that I made lots out of they sold pretty quick too.

Fountain pens are good as well but you have to be careful as the guys who buy these know a lot about them and will find any sort of flaw so take really good pics.

I also make military plaques out of wood like squadron plaques and such which are good sellers. There really is no place else to find them so they are pretty good of someone wants one. They are more a passion than profit though.

Factor in shipping first before listing anything and dont try to make a fortune doing it. The pricey stuff is always risky and opens you up for scammers.
