Why do minorities believe that their ancestors were peaceful like Smurfs

Japan literally committed one of the most atrocious killing sprees in Mainland Asia 8 decades ago.
China wasn't really any different back then too.

Africans think they are historically some peaceful group, yet their history only consists of backstabbing their kind and enslaving other African ethnicities.

Native Americans were just killing each other before the Europeans came.

As for the Natives, the most territorial and war hungry tribes were wiped out because they were the most combative against white settlers. It was the pacifist/peaceful nations that are still alive today (Navajo/Sioux/Dakoda etc)

Throughout history, groups of people have done bad things to other people. It was usually "tribal" in some way, ie looks, culture, geographical area, etc. No group was innocent.
