If you live anywhere in the US this past month you likely heard complaining about no snow this christmas, or how it's 'so warm' this christmas, and crying about global warming going to kill us all.

In reality, almost no one experiences white christmases outside of people in like northern Minnesota, Michigan, and parts of the Northeast. Everyone just remembers seeing snow in christmas movies as kids and believes they played in snow on christmas as well growing up. If you believe you had white christmases as a kid but not as an adult then you have been deceived - look up the historical weather records for your city and youll see they never existed


The origins of this came from Charles Dickens works like 200 years ago after a string of bad winters in rural England. Since then everyone associates snow with christmas. But almost no one in America has white christmases - not today, not 30 years ago, not 60 years ago, not 90 years ago.

People at my family gathering were talking about how unseasonably warm this christmas was. I looked up the weather and the average was actually colder than the last 100 year average.
