Anyway to make a wireless controller’s signal stronger?

I keep my AV equipment in a closet and have wires running thru the wall. Occasionally my Xbox losses signal to the controller. Not often enough to drag it out of the closet, or to run a 30+ft wire to it.

I'm not sure if this will work but it could be worth a shot if you have a way of setting it up.

Get the Xbox controller dongle for pc
Use a 10ft/6ft USB cable to extend that out of your closet. Maybe just slap some double sided tape and stick it the wall or something, with a more direct line of sight. That way at least the extra usb cable is still mostly in the closet.

Again I'm not entirely sure if that dongle can work like that with an xbox, but basically if it does I'd imagine you can use it as an extender. You can always just return it if it doesn't work.

What I did for my ps5 and Xbox both was just run a few very long usb cables from the media center underneath my area rug up thru the crack of the couch.

Don't even notice they are there, just tuck em into the couch cushion to go away.

best way is to use a better antenna. other than that you have to add in a better rf amp.

I added antennas to most of my consoles but I haven't done it to my series x yet. I am sure there's just a wireless interface in there you can add a sma connector to. This will allow you to screw on an antenna.
