They matter because they are the chief way to differentiate yourself from the competition. There's a reason console manufacturers don't use multi platform 3rd party games as a selling point.. It's because every platform has them. What do you offer to the table that's unique? And I'll give MS some props for finally seeing the light and trying hard to push their exclusives like Starfield... It's just that those titles aren't up to the quality that people expect just yet.

Nah, stop the cap. When those big gaming shows happen, most people aren't tuning in to really see most of the awards or any FIFA/COD trailer. They're tuning in to see what trailers their favorite single player studios are showing. Every single person in this sub except maybe freeburner loves single player games.

This vid shows the exact moment things got really bleak for Xbox this gen.

From what I've heard, people who play Starfield want to explore and discover cool chit on their journey. Starfield goes against that philosophy and instead resorts to focusing on main and secondary missions for content where you instead use fast travel alot. Now this can be fine but if that's the direction you want to take it, why give us 1000 mostly empty planets? They should have lessened the planets and sharply tightened the storylines and RPG elements.

Unlike CDPR, I also don't have any faith in Bethesda as a company that would admit to mistakes and fix everything that's wrong with the game. We've seen that with comments from todd howard and the bethesda team that attacked fans who questioned the game on social media and on support sites. Bethesda will instead rely on modders to try and fix this game, but given the recent reports of how long-time modders dont even want to touch this game anymore and that the mod-tools for this game are even more restrictive compared to earlier titles ... Starfield will probably be one of the most least supported Bethesda titles.

It's sad and hilarious that boxcels keep saying that this game will finally be decent 10-15 years down the line when modders have finally fixed it.

It’s still console exclusive and first party. Which is what my comment was in regards to.

Sorry, but if Xbox didn’t have Hifi rush, halo infinite, Forza horizon 5, Pentiment, sea of thieves, grounded, gears, and all the future games their teams have in development, I wouldn’t have the console. Same with Nintendo in regards to Mario, Zelda, Metroid, xenoblade, etc. Same with Sony first party.
