For guys who run on treadmills

How often do you run on treadmill, and for how long each time? At what speed do you run? What is your goal? Do you run on treadmill before/after every workout?

I run 2-5 times a week for 10-20 minutes each time. I would run for a longer time if I knew it wouldn't be a problem for my Achilles. I don't know what my exact goal is with running. Currently, I am in such bad shape that maybe my goal for now would be to run 1.5 miles in 11-12 minutes.

For your time:

i'd never run under 15 mins, otherwise the cardio benefit is limited and you're just burning a few calories.

2 mins fast walk, 3 mins uphill, 19 mins at a steady pace, 1min sprint.

usually the 19mins im doing at a slower pace but at a few degrees because it feels better on my knees

40-60 mins of cardio. always a separate workout from weights

I never do one cardio machine, always rotate between a couple

bout 10 mins of high intense (either stairmaster or row machine) and the rest is mid like treadmill, elliptical, bike

if my legs feel heavy, i'll do the rope pulldown machine

if I did cardio inside, mostly used the stairstepper and lost a ton of weight on it, treadmill running is too boring for me. When I did run a lot, it was all outside, trail running

Used to before work blew my back, knees, and an ankle out; now it's either spin bike, heavy bag, or just light weights with high reps.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

Thanks for the inspiration. This gave me more courage to do a 20-minute session next time. Though I am a bit worried about my Achilles. Currently, it is not hurt, but a few weeks ago, after one session when I decided to run at 9.4 speed (normally I have run at 6.5 speed), it got a bit sensitive. As a result, I had to take a one-week break from running and then resumed again. Perhaps I increased the speed too much all at once

Lol m8, I have to run away from my bad fitness and stamina. It's not good when I find myself gasping for breath after doing just a few reps of any compound exercise, such as squats, even though I am not even fat at all.

I wish I wasn't so lazy, but if I want to continue running, I have to do it either right before or after my gym session. It feels like too much to ask for me to go to the gym just to run on the treadmill for 20 minutes

I know this might sound weird but for me, the treadmill session is always my favorite. It's somehow really relaxing. I also enjoy doing 'boring' things, and I also like to be a bit of a masochist every now and then.

I usually do 2 min flat 3 min max incline for around 8x. Increase speed by 0.1 every week.
