Who the FOOK Would Want to Get on a Boeing Plane?

I'd love to be "Only Buy Amerikan" and "Amerikuh #1" and all that shiet.

But Airbus has proven far superior at this point, because they can keep their passengers alive.




Its absolute insanity that there hasn't been a huge backlash against Boeing planes at this point.
I think it hasn't happened yet because everyone still wants to drink the America #1 Kool-Aid.


Let's face it, Boeing has let us down.

Pilot here, I'll chime in.
Boing make some of the best plains I've ever had the pleasure of driving. One or two obscure manufacturing faults shouldn't put you off OP. Mistakes happen. I once had to fly a Airbus and the interior in those things is awful, you have to drive the whole plain using this cheap plastic joystick, its embarrassing. Boings have a YOLK which gives much more precision and finesse especially when making high speed turns. Flying from UAE to NY in my 747 tomorrow.

I'm not sure the engineers are to blame here. Seems more like capitalism after a deep dive into the issues. Since Boeing "bought" McDonnell Douglas and the bean counters with their focus on shareholder return have been in charge (taking Boeing further and further away from being a great engineering company) things have gone downhill.

One can only imagine the scrutiny about to be directed at the QA/QC of these planes right now

Was watching one video about this earlier where they cited a similar incident happened in the 1990s where incorrect bolts were used, most people don’t appreciate what goes into this chit from metallurgical quality assurance to weld inspections and bolt torque procedures etc. This shouldn’t even be affected by things like drive for profitability if the correct procedures are in place and properly regulated

You are correct.

Part of the recent issues, IMO, is that in days gone by Boeing saved $ by convincing the FAA that they could self-certify some of the designs. And then the 737 Max debacle happened partly as a result of that.

Aviation is going through a rough patch right now.

Basically what happened is from 2001-2015 or so there was very little grown in US commercial aviation due to 9-11 followed by the great recession.

Due to this the whole industry became boomer-heavy while very few new people got trained in these jobs.

Now all the boomers are retiring and there are no mid-level people to replace them.

This is affecting pilots, skilled workers, maintainers, ATC, design, basically everybody.

I'm guessing the guy who attached that panel on the Alaska flight will be found to be inexperienced and improperly trained.

No, we really don't. This is a real smooth brain response.

Boeing just uses a subcontractor who applies for all the H1B visas.

Now, let's look at how many H1B visas HCL Technologies applied for in 2023:
HCL America INC filed 3,648 H1B LCAs in fiscal year 2023, of which 3,624 were approved and 0 were denied.

Airbus is definitely far superior but unfortunately you don't get to choose your airplane make/model when booking a flight

its because there are FAR more cessna's in the air than any other GA brand.

30,000,000+ GA flight hours a year in the US and usually around 300 fatalities.

How would you boycott Boing? (SRS)

The consoomer peasant doesnt have any say in this. When you book a flight, you dont get to choose or even see what plane will be used. Only after booking.

So you pay extra for flex/free cancelation? And if it turns out to be a Boing plane you cancel your flights?
Then what? You book a new flight blindly, pay extra to be able to cancel and surprise, it's a Boing again.

Rinse and repeat ten times until you get a flight with a different plane stated in your info email. Turn up to the airport 6 months later and it's a fkkn Boing after all because they're probably the cheapest to buy.

Brb never flying again.
