Apex legends x final fantasy crossover event introduces macro transactions!

327 dollars to unlock all the cosmetics from the new crossover event with final fantasy. Each loot crate costs about $10 to open.

The buster sword is now the first universal heirloom weapon in apex and can be used with any character. It's drop percent is random through the loot boxes for this event. So you can open one box and get it if lucky.

heirloom weapons are mele Weapons that are pure cosmetic and usually special for each character. An heirloom is given after 500 apex packs, or can be bought during special events usually for about $150.

Just to help understand how these events work in apex:

-Event starts
-Theres usually like 15 or 20 items you can unlock via special event crates
-You can unlock some naturally by playing but you'll never get all of them.
-if you buy all of the loot boxes and unlock everything, you get the special heirloom
-to do this costs around $150
-these events are the only way to get garunteed heirlooms, otherwise you just randomly get one every 500 apex packs you open

Meanwhile apex legends is at an all time low in every metric. They have the stones to do this, just lol. So insulting to consumers.

apex legends is a fantastic BR when compared to others... but yea its time is coming to an end as it never really broke out of its niche community

they are just trying to milk it as much as possible til EA pulls the plug completely.

Totally.

It's damn near impossible to be a new player in this game now. And old players are leaving because the game is being ruined by controller config players.

I switched to controller idk a few months ago and I'm not even kidding when I say the game is just so much easier on a controller. The auto aim in this game is simply too overpowered.

Now pair that with people using steam configs to enable their controller to let them do completely impossible movement tech, stuff you can't even do on pc, it's just miserable.

I tried one of these configs out and felt like a complete piece of garbage. There's nothing to even learn, the controller is set up so all you do is hold down the jump button to move like this. People read this and think I'm crazy when I say that mouse and keyboard is simply NOT the better input for apex legends. Controller is literally so much better, most pros have switched to controller long ago. Mouse and keyboard pro players in apex are either having to switch, or not getting picked up by pro teams. There's still a handful doing it, but they are on their way out.

In 2019 when the game launched, the first pro Lan only had 2 players on controller. 2023 was mostly just controller.

They refuse to disable steam configs because at this point half of their player base would just quit if they couldn't cheat. These configs are not allowed in pro play, they shouldn't be allowed in regular either.

Look at this chit lmao, its impossible to fight against. It's even worse when it's a Fkn octane stimmed up

Apex has always had ridiculous micro transaction prices. Why is anyone surprised this would be different?
